Wilfredo Rodriguez III is currently pursuing a degree in Music Education – Jazz Studies at Rowan University. Rodriguez holds the principle contrabass position in the Rowan University Orchestra, and has been heard performing in several other ensembles including the Colligium Musicum, String Ensemble, Concert Choir, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Lab Band, and Pep Band. Rodriguez has made music in many locations throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and Colorado. As a classical and jazz performer, Rodriguez has performed from the pit in several operas and musicals. Performing in chamber string ensembles and performing in small jazz combos are some of the things Rodriguez loves to do, along with subbing in several rock bands statewide. Rodriguez has also performed with musical greats such as Dean Schneider, Mike Davis, Denis Diblasio, Robert Rawlins, George Rabbai, and Louise Mandrell. In terms of teaching experience, Rodriguez has taught a class in Music Technology for Rowan University’s STEAM Academy, is currently a counselor of Rowan University’s String and Jazz Camps, and is a manager for the Rowan University Youth Orchestra. Rodriguez takes pride in teaching the joy of music and comprehensive musicianship. Rodriguez has had students from ages four to retiree, and has been an instructor at the Sam Ash Cherry Hill Learning Center for over two years.
