Victoria Pietrzak has a Bachelor of Music Degree from University of Hartford’s The Hartt School of Music, where she studied Music Education with an instrumental emphasis. Through their vigorous program, Victoria learned how to play and teach virtually every instrument and participated in numerous performing groups, including The Hartt Symphony Orchestra, Hartt Camerata (an all female singing group), Jazz Band, and Pep Band. Outside of The Hartt School, Victoria has performed with various groups (including the Long Island Philharmonic) at many prestigious venues, including Tilles Center, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall.
Victoria has taught both band and orchestra to students grades 3-12 during her practicum and student teaching, creating her own units, holding and planning recitals, conducting rehearsals, and running sectionals. Victoria has also taught Violin at USDAN Center for the Creative and Performing Arts Summer Camp. Victoria has been a judge for Connecticut Regional Auditions (the equivalent of NYSSMA in New York) for Violin (Levels 1-6) and Viola (All State).
Victoria also has an extensive background working with students with special needs, taking courses in Psychology for Exceptionalities and Abnormal Psychology, volunteering at the Farmington Transition Academy, and working as a counselor for campers with special needs at the Mid Island Y JCC Summer Camp.
Victoria is extremely enthusiastic about teaching and enjoys this art in all capacities. She even recently began teaching chess at various after school programs throughout Long Island and is currently working as an Assistant Chess Teacher at USDAN. Victoria is always excited to take on new challenges and cannot wait to work with you!
