Joe D'Angelo

Joe D’Angelo is a professional drum and vocal instructor originally from Piscataway, New Jersey who earned a reputation in the New York City, Jersey Shore, and Philadelphia areas as a popular “go-to” musician and vocalist. He currently resides in Dallas, Texas.

Essentially a blues-rock drummer, Joe is known for his deep pocket and heavy sense of swing and funk with a powerful back-beat. Also a gifted singer, Joe can sing lead or harmony while playing drums or work “out front” as a lead and background singer, portraying an emotional and charismatic presence.

Joe has studied with Jazz legend Joe Morello (Dave Brubeck Group) and R&B legend Bernard Purdie (Steely Dan, Aretha Franklin). His extensive performance resume includes touring and concert stage time shared with nationally known artists. Lately, he is less on the road and more working out of his home base in Dallas, playing a few nights a week with regional and local artists.

Joe has been teaching drum and vocal students for over 20 years. He owned and operated his own teaching studio in his native New Jersey before joining the team at Sam Ash Learning Center, Dallas.
