FROM unpacking and seeing it for the first time.. feeling the key action and hearing the superb piano sound.. TO experiencing the other incredible-sounding instruments (voices).. discovering the straightforward interface and enjoying many entertaining demos.. I liked the Korg D1 so much from the beginning (and at each step along the way), I felt the need to downplay my enthusiasm initially, just to keep my opinion from coming on too strong! Out of the box and on the stand, the keyboard feels solid and looks great. The key action is excellent (not too hard and not too soft), compared with many keyboards we'd returned. Our old speakers (and even a brand new soundbar) did not do this keyboard justice. On a tight budget, some affordable multimedia speakers did the trick. The D1 feels and sounds better than any of the other keyboards we tried!
