The Kawai CA58 is a revolutionary digital stand up piano that is built to perfection so you have a true grand piano experience. Due to its sleek, compact design, this keyboard will look great in any room of your home while also providing you with pristine quality sound. Combing some of the latest and greatest features in touch, sound, and digital features this state of the art digital piano is perfect for concert artists who are looking for an affordable feature-packed digital piano.

This revolutionary digital piano is the latest to use Kawi's Grand Feel Compact Wooden-Key keyboard action. This keyboard action provides you with the authentic touch weight characteristics of industry-leading Grand Feel keyboard actions. This action is designed to retain long wooden key sticks used for all 88 black and white keys, and the familiar 'seesaw' mechanism. Despite its familiar size, the GF compact features an extended key pivot length, providing a more consistent touch weight when playing towards the rear of the keyboard.

The CA58 was built to capture the tone and authenticity of the flagship Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano so you can have the same experience right at home. This sound has been reproduced using the full 88-key sampling advanced in combination with harmonic imaging sound technology. This technology ensures smooth tonal transitions across the keyboard and throughout the entire dynamic range.

Happy with this purchase. Beautiful, piano-like digital piano. The action is impressive, with options to customize to make it exactly like you're accustomed. Love the Bluetooth connectivity ability - one of the reasons I opted for this one. The action being another factor. High quality sounds, for every one; not gimmicky. Thanks Sam Ash!

Good Value, Authentic Sound

The Kawai CA58 gives an authentic piano experience at a good value. I tried the entire line of Kawai Concert Artist Series multiple times at a local Kawai dealer and found that I actually preferred this middle tier model compared to the upper end CA98 and CA78. I would have bought from the local dealer too, but they wouldn't give me anywhere close to the deal I got with Sam Ash. Their loss, Sam Ash and my gain. The only thing I find it lacking is quality bass when playing music through the line in. This left me disappointed. But I mainly bought this as a substitute to a real piano and it definitely delivers on the tone for piano applications. The lower notes sound rich and natural. I may still add a cheap sub woofer to enhance the sound a bit. The freight company YRC that delivered the piano almost dropped it off of the truck twice. I had to jump in and save the piano. Also, they shipped the box standing on its end which the box clearly says not to do. Nothing was harmed, but I would expect the freight company to understand how to read the directions on a box.

The CA58 is an Excellent Choice for a Serious Pianist

The Kawai CA58 digital piano is everything one expects for the price: a versatile instrument with numerous options for customization of each aspect thanks to the "Virtual Technician" function that is available for iOS users via a downloadable app and accessible via the on-board LCD menu. The weighted ivory-touch keys are made of genuine wood, and even duplicate the notched feel of a grand piano upon a partial key press. Kawai spares no detail on the functionality side of this instrument. It mimics just about every aspect of an acoustic piano alongside a wide selection of spot-on realistic voices. The piano ships via freight. Assembly instructions are not-so-conveniently located on the bottom of a carton that cannot be flipped over per the directional arrows. The top half of the piano is comes pre-assembled so it isn't even necessary to attach the music stand. Most of the assembly consists of the lower half. Once complete, a second person must be present to lift and align the keyboard portion on top of the stand. One thing to note when you are looking at the final result of your efforts to assemble this furniture-weight digital piano is that the upper portion does not align exactly with the vertical elements of the stand. This proved confusing until I consulted a YouTube assembly video and froze it on the appropriate frame, which confirmed that the top portion is not designed to sit flush with the side supports. To my eye, this is an aesthetic drawback because it gives the top a blocky/modular vs. a seamless look relative to the bottom half. Nonetheless, this is entirely normal. The included piano bench features in-bench music storage. I expected this to be an advantage over my previous Kawai PN-300 digital piano bench — that dates to 1996! — but the padding is sparse, it's slightly wobbly and it doesn't feel as solid to sit upon. Fortunately, Kawai's Rosewood finish was also in use in the '90s so I am able to go on using my old bench in lieu of the new one.
