Very happy with this purchase

Really easy to use, intuitive controls. Great for someone starting out on percussion who might want to transition slowly towards towards a full drum set (due to the module's ability to be modified with electric pedals etc.), but has space/price/volume constraints on building a traditional set. Also good for people looking to move towards an MPC style setup, but versatile and responsive enough that you could just stick with this if it suits your fancy.

Cool and Versatile

My daughter's school has a digital band and she plays this drum. It looks cool, has many sounds and it's easy to carry to school and back.

The (almost) perfect compact electronic drum pad/module

I purchased this on behalf of my church to use as a very portable drum set for off-stage music needs and retreats. First use was at a men's retreat for a combo of guitar, piano and drums. Sounds are high quality, ease of use for both playing and setup is top notch. Best feature is connecting a drum pedal or switch for the kick, and a switch for the hi hat. Makes it into a really complete, natural feeling compact electric drum kit. Other uses we have found excellent have been timpani, conga drums (including slap), extra cymbals and snare rim (rather than rim shot) Only reason for 4 stars is I wish I could have midi in to connect a sequencer. This can be used as a controller though (midi out), which is a great feature. For the price this is hard to beat. We have found the best way th mount is with a snare stand or (using adapter) on a clamp-style cymbal stand.

Great auxiliary percussion for drum set!

I wanted to be able to play percussion sounds like congas or bongos and was originally going to buy a competitor brand that had only 25 preset sounds. I'm glad I waited for the KAT Multipad to come out this year, because it has 50 preset sounds and is equipped with a hi-hat trigger input and a kick input! The competitor brand has no hi-hat trigger input and 25 less preset sounds, so buying the KAT was a no-brainer. The KAT Multipad will compliment any drum set player with an open mind to add other percussion sounds to his/her arsenal on the stage or in the studio. I can also use this for rehearsal if I don't want to bring my whole drum set and I can also use this for church performances when a drum set is not allowed due to volume restrictions! Now, this is not a be all and end all solution to replace the drum set, it is another alternative to bring in more color sounds to the music so I wouldn't have to lug more percussion instruments to the gig! I place my KAT to the left of me next to the hi-hat when I play my drum set. Buy this, for what it does, it's a steal!
