I found Kala makes some decent ukuleles for the beginner and intermediate player. They grabbed my attention because each line sounds different and unique from each other. The KA-SEM looks great and has a loud bright voice. I had a couple cheaper sopranos because I wasn't sure I was going to like playing them versus a concert or a tenor, but they've grown on me and I enjoy them for their own unique sound. This one and I took about 3 weeks for me to decide if I like how it felt and sounded, and I had the saddle adjusted lower and it's like butter to play on. Easy peasy. I'm more comfortable with a long neck soprano, but this one I call "Little Evey" and it reminds me to focus on correct finger placement more so than the others I have. This is a good thing, she doesn't like to be handled without care. When I pay attention it really projects well.
