I recently picked up the trumpet again since we have had to be in shelter in place mode. It had been 30 years! Well, my old high school trumpet, while playable, was really in bad shape. I decided to invest in a new one and really like this JB! It sounds great; everything I needed came with it and Sam Ash got it to me when they said they would and the 2 year no interest deal is just what I needed!

I bought this trumpet for my 9 year old son. He absolutely loves it. It is light and looks beautiful. The valves are smooth and easy to use and the workmanship is of the highest quality. The sound is great as well at least from a 9 year old playing it as his first instrument!

At a distance, this trumpet could easily be confused for a competing brand- and even up close, one may have a hard time distinguishing between this killer step-up horn and those expensive name-brand models. Tone quality and timbre are phenomenal- comparable only to other horns new for $1000+.

This might be my favorite trumpet under a thousand dollars. It is a student model, but it's really top notch. I think a horn player would be happy with this instrument through middle school and maybe even high school, so it's a great investment for someone starting out, especially if they're really excited about learning. The action is really smooth, the parts are really well made, and the sound is really resonant.

Nothing compares to Jean Baptiste when it comes to making high quality instruments at the lowest price. This is an intermediate trumpet- it's perfect for the student looking for a "step-up" and not wanting to spend a fortune. It also comes with a nice case and a bunch of accessories!

The Jean Baptiste line of instruments have really come a long way in the past several years. The 512 series trumpet is at a great price point for those starting out or even someone who wants a second piece. The quality is fine and I have seen some that play much nicer than the more expensive one's out there. I haven't seen a student who plays it and becomes discouraged later. Even some professionals out there recommend and use them as well.
