5 Star Sound

5 star sound however it had a chip in the paint. Love the small size. I use as my always on pedal on the dirty channel.

Works like its larger "siblings"

I was hoping that at minimum gain, this pedal would provide only a small amount of harmonics along with a volume boost to my clean tone; however, at minimum gain settings it provided more distortion than I wanted... at higher gain settings it sounded good, but, I already own several pedals that I use for my distorted tones; hence, I returned this pedal because it did not work out for me at it's lower settings... if you want to use a tube screamer at its mid to higher settings, this pedal will perform just as well as its bigger "siblings"

Screaming in a Small Footprint

Has all the tone of its larger predecessor and fits in my boards limited space. IT has a great drive sound that goes from dark to bright.

Good product

I use this pedal in front of a compression pedal and it sounds great. Both pedals together are a combination every guitarist should have.

Great pedal for the price

I use this with a 59 Fender Bassman Ltd and I like it much better than any other overdrive I have tried with this amp. I don't care for it with my Vox AC30 but I love it with the Bassman.

I've tried both the mini and regular tube screamer and I personally can't tell a difference. You get the same knobs and same tone. For nearly half the price and space on my pedal board, I couldn't be happier.

A little beast

I'm a metal guy at heart, so when I finally put the Metal Zone away and started building a grownup pedal board, a Tube Screamer was high on my list. I was particularly interested in this unit because of the size, since my beginner board probably isn't going to be very big. I plugged this little guy into my regular setup and was immediately blown away. If you've played some metal you know the setup: straight into a high gain amp, drive at 0, level at 10, and tone dialed in to taste. It made my Orange Micro Dark Terror, digital Bias FX rig, and even my sad old Marshall solid state roar, but in a much more defined way that never felt flabby or uncontrollable. I would recommend pairing it with a decent noise gate to trim down the hum, but that's just what electric guitars do when you crank the gain, and not a flaw of this pedal in particular. Okay, sure, it can do metal. I've also run this unit through a bunch of other setups and contexts. Through my Orange I definitely got very usable blues and classic rock tones by pulling the gain and volume back on the amp, and setting everything on the pedal around half way. I can even see potentially using it with the drive all the way up as a lead boost or to slightly break up a clean tone. This little thing is a beast for sure, and is pretty much perfect for my uses. It's not a transform your amp kind of effect, it's meant to compliment what your existing equipment already does. It has some specific things it does well, and it *really* nails them. #sweepstakes

Authentic TS808 Sounds! Very Small!

Great tubescreamer, pedalboard friendly, and great price

Same Scream, Smaller Size

Over my experience playing guitar, I've found the best way to get a great distorted tone isn't via metal pedals or digital effects. The best way to get great tone is using an amp with a gain setting, keeping the gain moderate, and hitting it with a little extra kick. The mini Tube Screamer does that job with perfection. The price makes it a bargain.

A Keeper

Many dirt pedals have come and gone for my board over the years, I think this one will be around for a while, it gets used at every gig. Compare this one to the full size and to my ear, it is better. If you need the class TS sound, this will give it to you, and free up space for other pedals.
