For 30 years the SR has given bass players a modern alternative. Embraced by bassists over the decades, the iconic series continues to excite with its smooth, fast neck, lightweight body and perfectly matched electronics.

The SR300E is a handsome 4-string bass designed for the experienced player. The bass starts with an immaculately finished Nyatoh body. Other features include a sturdy 5-piece Maple / Walnut SR4 neck, a Jatoba Fingerboard, and an Accu-cast B120 bridge for superior string vibration transfer and precise intonation. Cosmo Black hardware adds a hint of stealth.

At the heart of the SR300E's electronics are two PowerSpan Dual Coil pickups. Their stainless pole pieces offer higher output, clarity, and fullness than any in the SR300's class. Accessed by the 3-way "Power Tap" switch, these proprietary pickups offer a choice of three tonal personalities: A rich humbucker sound, a pure single-coil sound, or an enhanced single coil sound— fattened by lows from the humbucker pickups. Add the ability to dial in precise tone preferences via the Ibanez Custom 3-band EQ, and the SR300E is a musical chameleon.

Cool color, not the best neck on mine.

Cool color, not great quality from Ibanez. Biggest issue was a slight rise in the fretboard around the 2nd-3rd frets. Couldn't get the relief and action set correctly. Sound and electronics worked as they should.

Really good value

I was in need of a four string bass. I usually use a 5 string but I've found a need lately for a 4 string. Looked at Fender,Epiphone,Sterling etc. I found this baby to be the best dollar value. The workmanship on it is excellent. I love the color Black Planet Matte. Btw the 300 series and 400 series are pretty much identical except for the cosmetic differences. As for tones man you can certainly get a lot of different tones with the pickups,eq, and coil switch. My only complaint when i got it home from my local Sam Ash store the strings were way high off the neck. I was unable to adjust the neck as the allen wrench just wasn't turning. I was able to adjust the saddles and lower them also hung the bass from a wall mount and in a few days it's much better now very playable. I still would recommend this bass highly. The price along with the tone and workmanship is really great.
