For a while I was eyeballing this particular guitar every time I'd walk into my local Sam Ash. It was just so gorgeous I could literally spot it from across the room. One day I got curious because I was already in the area and decided to go and just try it, without any intent to actually buy it. After about 5-10 minutes of playing it, I couldn't let someone else walk out of the store with it. It feels great, it's set up so well right from the get go that you can literally bang on the strings without a single hint of buzz, yet at the same time the action is still quite low. I've been looking for a hybrid guitar, something that can pull off some twangy SRV style blues or Jazz Fusion, yet at the same time have the ability to chug and get my shred on when I want, and it's been near impossible to find a guitar that fit the bill without it either having a stupid tremolo, or just being a lemon. Upon playing this model, I've also found by far my favorite humbucker pickups I've ever heard. The Tone Zone has a great midrange, just the right amount of output, rightness, and all around clarity. The Air Norton is extremely versatile once again with a great voice and clarity to it, and then when you flip it to parallel wiring, although it's not identical to a single coil sound it's close enough. It gets that throaty sound when overdriven and is also amazing for cleans. After having played for about 15 years and owning around 40 or so guitars, and trying at least twice as many, I'm astounded at how awesome this RG is. If you're thinking about it, seriously, just do it.
