Following the great success of the Mikro guitars, Ibanez has now brought Mikro basses into the fold, based on the Soundgear line. The shortened 28.6" scale is the perfect solution for smaller hands, younger players, or anywhere that space is at a premium.

The body is crafted from Agathis, with an easy to play Maple neck and features a rosewood fingerboard topped with 22 medium frets. The GSRM20 houses a set of "P" (neck) and "J" (bridge) style pickups for the unlimited tonal possibilities. The chrome hardware brings it together with a B10 bridge and die-cast tuners. Case not included.

Mikro really means - Mikro (small)

The unit arrived perfectly. Great sales process and shipping. Sadly, we found the size to be smaller than we had "thought" it would be and needed to return it. Exchanged it for 32" scale Squier Jaguar. The return and exchange process were a breeze. Thanks to Steven in Online Sales Dept.

Sounds good, plays easy

I am a guitar player and bought this short scale bass to help our a friend by riling in for the bass player in his "hobby" band. Within 45 minutes of receiving the bass I was playing bass lines with the band. The short scale makes it easy for a guitar player to transition. The bass sounds good and looks good. I checked the set-up and it was right on Ibanez specs. Action is actually lower than Fender specs for the P-Bass. Some reviewers complained of fret buzz. I had a little of that at first but I think mainly due to playing technique and not properly fretting the strings. I am not a bass player. I did not notice any fret buzz with better technique after playing for a couple hours. I would recommend this for anyone wanting to get into bass playing on a budget.

Bought this for my 14 year old nephew. He likes it. He is still growing.

Great short scale bass!!

I bought this short scale bass for my 9yo and he loves it. I'm really surprised how nice it is considering the cheap price. It sounds good and it feels solid. More of a quality instrument than I expected. I took it to a guy who does my guitar set ups and he checked it out and told me it was good to go right out of the box and didn't need any tweaking. Def very happy with this purchase and my kid loves this bass. Sam Ash packaged it up well and got it to me quick.

Great bass

I've been playing bass for almost 40 years and I love this bass. I play gigs every weekend with two different bands. One is more modern country , southern rock and funk while the other is more blues, classic rock and classic country. This little bass does great with both bands. Being a female bassist, I am a lot faster on this bass than other long scale basses. It's also much easier on my shoulder because it's so lightweight. It's just a great all around bass.

Such an awesome guitar

I bought this for a 16 year old girl as a "secret Santa" gift. I saw a video of her opening it. She cried with joy & absolutely loves it. She says it is amazing

My husband likes this bass guitar.

My husband is learning how to play his new bass guitar... so again he likes the style of it, and also how he can maneuver his fingers through the strings while playing.

I love this bass!

I began learning to play the bass guitar a couple months ago on a full size cheap no name bass. It was okay, but being a 5'3" 110 lb. female with tiny hands, I thought a small scale bass might work better for me. I was right. Since receiving my Mikro, my playing has improved a lot and the sound is great. It is so much more comfortable to play and I love the look too. I got the purple color.

Great bass, especially for a beginniner!

i got this bass a couple of years ago. i originally played guitar, and got a bass for the band at school. although it is a short scale, if you want to get more serious in your bass playing, you will have to get a regular size bass. however, for a beginner, especially someone who is used to playing guitar, this is perfect! i play all types of music from metal, jazz, rock, and even classical music! i still use this to jam out with friends because of the wide variety of music that this can play! i highly recommend this, especially as a starter bass

Great begin for a new player

This was originally a part of a package that was being introduced about 3 years ago with a small 10 Watt amp. I was just recovering from a stroke and needed something to help in the recovery. I purchased this bass and loved it ever since. I have played it in both mid to larger churches and also as a practice bass. I have never experienced a single problem with this bass. I only replaced the strings once due to their feel I was getting from wear. Have a G/K Amp Combo 200 Watt, this bass is more than able to keep up with the amp even during long sessions and services. I say to any one that is embarking on learning to play the bass guitar for the first time, please put your money on this bass. It is a little on the heavy side when playing while standing, but this is also something that can be overcome due to the proper strap and brace for your shoulder. Only reason for replacing it is due to time for an upgrade. Also preparing to begin recording. I say to anyone that is new or looking for just a pracitical pratice insturment, this is the perfect bass for the money. You will not be sorry for one minute or dollar spent.
