Ibanez GA6CE Nylon String Acoustic-Electric Guitar

Gently strumming a nylon-string guitar can evoke images of dusty Spanish cafes, pastoral landscapes and classical elegance. Ibanez offers modern acoustic-electrics with cutaways for easier upper-fret access, such as the GA6CE.

The Everything Guitar

Purchased as a practice nylon (dark violin burst finish), however I have found this guitar to be the classical / acoustic / electric hybrid that fills so many sound requirements it has become the 'go to' guitar in our studio. Unplugged, the nylon sound is fine, however not as loud as a full size. When played as acoustic, the softer tone is a good contrast to a steel string. When plugged in, you have an electric hollow body with a true vintage sound, with some eq tweaking you can get an awesome high gain to play the hardest rock. The guitar comes nicely set out of the box, but to make it more like an electric action, I lowered the nut slots.

Most relaxing gift to play and to listen

I have been playing classical since age 12, I am now 72. I have found this instrument to be most comfortable and responsive to my needs. I still have my first guitar that was purchased by my parents in 1954. As I play for my own pleasure and an occasional recital, I have found much satisfaction with this product. My son gave it to me 2 years ago for a birthday present. This instrument "fits" me perfectly. The neck is of perfect dimension for my left hand and fingers. As I transitioned from my first guitar to this one, I found it to be so comfortable. As I do not use much, if any, amplification, it is nice for large rooms like church buildings or recitals. The most expensive is not necessarily the best. The instrument must compliment the human body. Thank you for allowing me to comment on this instrument.

This is it!

This is a greate guitar for intermediate students that want a better sounding guitar than the basic starter one. My recommendation is you try MANY guitars before you do find the one you think is the one and then go back and try again. You will not regret the time you spent searching, because as you search you become more informed talking to ppl and salespeople too. I purchased this guitar after many months of searching and comparing, for plain old playing at home for the enjoyment of music. Great sounding instrument! Highly recommended for the price you pay. At first I wasn't too crazy about Ibanez line but after trying it and with the help of my music teacher (thank you sooo much for going with me)we found this guitar had all I wanted for the budget I had..and in the end that's what will matter most..what sound you get for the money you are willing to put out.

melodramatic sounds

Just what I was looking for.

I first saw this guitar at Disney when a wandering troubadour was using one. I put aside my metal string in favor of the full bodied sound of the nylon. It was also a favorite of the salesman. I do plan to learn some classical as my lessons proceed.

Sweet guitar.

Excellent guitar right off the box. Sweet sound, and easy to play. Feels and sounds like more expensive one. Very good deal for the money.
