The AS73 is the kind of semi-hollow that can tackle just about any genre of music you throw at it. The pickups are mounted into a sustain block for increased sustain and feedback elimination while the 17th fret joint offers comfortable access to higher notes.

The AS73 features a select-grade maple top, back, and sides. The fretboard is warm, bound walnut contrasted by brilliant Acrylic block inlays. The Artcore mahogany neck has proven its reliability on thousands of Ibanez hollow and semi-hollow bodies throughout the years. Ibanez designed the Classic Elite pickups to give you big, full tone and well-balanced output. Chrome hardware includes an ART-1 bridge/Quik Change III tailpiece combo. Case not included.

Amazing guitar for the price, great tones and feel

I can't put it down!

I live and work in Mexico. A year ago, I got a Sam Ash gift card for Christmas. There's no Sam Ash where I live...or even a decent music store. So, I had my Sam Ash gift card burning a hole in my pocket for a year...and couldn't spend it! But, I spent a whole year like a kid looking at a [...] Christmas toy catalog staring at all the goodies and did alot of research and drooling. LOLI finally came to the states for a few days and went straight to the neighborhood store with several guitar models in mind. I played alot of guitars. Some cheaper. Alot of others more expensive. I kept coming back to the Ibanez AS73. I didn't really want a hollow body, but I remembered all the good reviews I had read and for the price, there was nothing that came close. I couldn't put it down! I have other guitars but this AS73 pulls some tones and allows me to do some things that I just couldn't do on my other guitars. Wow...I know I'm just not THAT good! But the AS73 makes me a better player. It's buttery smooth and just a joy to play and I hadn't even thought that a hollow body would be lighter. It's gonna be great onstage![...] I only get to the states once or twice a yaer so it's not like I can bring something back if it's no good. [...] And thanks Ibanez!

hollow rocks

I have had this guitar for a while and love it! I did change the pickups after a year though to symore duncan HOT ROD set SH-1 JAZZ neck and SH-4 bridge, but it lost some twang to it.Ibanez know what their doing when they put in ACH pickups in the artcore but i like the HOT pups too.The sound of this guitar is great Im going to buy another one so I can best of both worlds. The duncan's make it very hot screaming leads and the ACH give it a bold sound and let's the hollow body sound come out.So that tells you its a great sounding guitar. One of the pots I did have to replace after time and the input jack comes loose but a great deal! GET ONE OR TWO!!!

Good Working Guitar

Before buying this guitar I did a great deal of research comparing similiar guitars. The bottom line is for the price this is a very good guitar at a resonable price.

never can say goodbye... to my as73 !

I used to own a Gibson ES 345 in my youth but had to sell it. Grew up a little and got my career moving and spent a little to get a AS 73 to fill my need for a semi-hollow guitar. Very impressed !Playabilty, feel and sound are 1st rate on the Ibanez. Now I have the bucks to replace my lost-to-time Gibson but I can't part with my AS73 !Why should I ? The guitar is every bit as perfect as a Gibson 335 series guitar (better finish, it's got all that pretty binding that you have to pay Gibson big bucks for). I refuse to go back to the real thing when I have all I want in the Ibanez AS73. Only thing I don't like is the lack of a pickguard, Ibanez should charged an extra $20 for the guitar and add it as a standard feature. I ended up adding a aftermarket pickguard to protect that pretty finish. Thanks for saving me $1000s of dollars Ibanez !

"Good value, Good sound"

I've been playing Ibanez for a very long time (84'AS200CS and 82'AR105AV)surprise me to see that people just began to discover how much fun is to play this guitars. Got my AS73TC 3 years ago, when I saw the price I tought it was a mistake. The ACH Pickups work nicely with the hollow body, refreshing sound. If you play Blues, Jazz, Rock, Bossa you should try one!

Simply the best guitar I own

I've owned a lot of guitars over the years, and this beauty is still my fave. Unbelievable sound clean tone (especially with 10's). Turn on the distortion and turn up the mid tones on your EQ, and you will be rocking. The action is truly awesome and the feel is great. Great for blues, rock and hard rock. You can expect some feedback with distortion, but nothing to cry about. I would recommend this guitar to anyone, anytime, anywhere.

Beauty and Vesatility - A Prize Guitar!

I bought mine ( a wine red model ) a year ago and I still am honeymooning and in-love with this guitar. The contour, quality finish and workmanship, the slightly wide neck complimented by the smooth round back makes you feel you are playing a thousand dollar axe. Its design is not too fancy and not too "old school" - just right with the f-holes, big waist, and double cutaway clean of pick guard and whammy bar. The best thing about AS73 is the sound you get! It can give you the versatility that ranges from crisp and clear clean tones for jazz, to the vintage sound of blues, up to the far end of screaming and distorted sounds of Heavy Metal and Rock - just with the proper alchemy of its Humbucker pick-ups and your amp settings. It never let me down. [...] Bottomline - this is a 5 Star Prize Guitar that'll make you feel a better musician with it as your axe! It's for keeps!

Now I believe in Ibanez

I use the AS73 to perform all genres of music. The action and tone variability is so sweet it transforms me to create and explore. Its like owning a new freedom of expression. The AS73 is all that and some. The AS73's quality is realized right out of the box. It makes you want to play and its hard to put away. An Awesome Axe.... Ibanez AS73.

great deal

When I first played the guitar in the store I was impressed by it's action, tone, and overall playability ,plus, it's looks. I became really interested after I heard the price. I bought the guitar and had the store owner tweak it a little.I have played many gigs with this guitar and can't tell you enough to go try one out.
