I bought my first Hohner Marine Band harmonica in fifth grade. In high school, I added to my kit, buying marine bands and blue harps in all the keys. And they have always been Hohners. Recently I have become enamored with Hohner's Signature series and bought the John Lennon and Bob Dylan versions. So when I saw ther was a Sonny Terry edition coming out, I had to jump on it. Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee have been an influence on my blues playing since my teenage years and buying this tribute edition was important to me. I love the edition's nod to the traditional Hohner Marine Band Harmonica. The vintage cardboard harmonica case takes me back to the traditional Marine Band packaging, while the harmonica plays like it's already broken in with a forceful confidant tone. The exterior packaging echoes that same vintage Marine Band package. All in all an amazing deal that honors the influence of one of the truly great blues musicians. I bought it from Sam Ash because of their reputation and my own past history with them. When you buy from Sam Ash, you buy from someone that knows musicians and their needs, and not some anonymous monopoly that sells everything to everybody. My experience buying from Sam Ash is buying from someone who cares about the music.
