With 250 watts of available power, the Hartke HA2500 Bass Amp Head will drive your small to mid-sized bass rig with incredible clarity and punch.

With 250 watts of available power, the HA2500 will drive your small to mid-sized bass rig with incredible clarity and punch. In addition, the HA2500 offers a number of advanced features, including front panel compression and ten bands of graphic equalization, allowing you to create a broad range tonal colors.

A dedicated in/out button even allows you to preset an equalization curve. Two fully adjustable contour knobs (high pass and low pass) also provide further control for shaping your bass sound. Effects send and return jacks let you connect to professional outboard effects processors and an effect balance knob enables you to adjust the relative amount of send ("dry") versus return ("wet") effect signal being routed to the speaker outputs. Protection relay circuitry also protects connected speakers from dangerous overloading and also prevents "thumps" when powering on or off.

The Hartke silver-face chassis adds a clean, stylish aesthetic to any rig and rugged construction makes the HA2500 eminently roadworthy. Plus, with advanced pre amp features, this amp is as ideal for studio work as it is for live performances. All this combined with exceptional reliability makes the HA2500 a staple amplifier for the contemporary bass industry.

Loudest 250 Watts I've heard!

One word: PRE OWNED!!Went to Sam Ash and played a new one that was $250 bucks, and it sounded awesome. I loved it. Then I noticed they had a pre owned one, and I picked it up for just [$] bucks! No issues at all except for some scratches and the graphic EQ on/off button is a little out of whack, but it all works great! I have the clip in the back put a only a 115 watts and plugged into my 410 cabinet, I only need it put to like 4 to be heard over really loud drums and guitar.Only complaint I have is that I wish they would have made it simple and put a mid range knob instead of all of the graphic EQ that is kind of confusing to set up, but once you get the hang of it you can really tweak your tone. For this price range(especially pre owned), this is the best amp head you can buy.

$$NICE BANG FOR THE BUCK$$

Great value for the money. I have it hooked up to 2 4x10 Behringer bass cabs and it sounds great. (Sorry Hartke, I already owned these cabs.) The EQ is a great function with plenty of adjustment. When playing slap style with the aluminum cone speakers in the cabs, the HA2500 head owns them. Nice pop and bottom end. I play a 5 string bass and low B string sounds nice and fat, not like mud. Plenty of power. After a few minutes of seeing what the sliders and knobs do had it dialed in. Compressor helps with the low B taking over everything too. Used in practice room, studio, bar gigs, and outside partys and seems to work well with plenty of volume left. It's not big wattage but it's loud. Get it!!!

I received this amp head about two weeks ago and im in love with it. the bass I am currently using is a esp B-105 LTD 5 string and I combined the amp head with my SWR Goliath speaker cabinet and its AMAZING. It gives my bass a clear tone and the compressor helps out a lot.

Best value I know of

I bought this amp to run a Schroeder 12" light cab. One speaker on the 2500 equals 180 watts. The Schoeder is rated to 400, so no problem, but believe me, I haven't had the amp above five. Amazing, fat sound. Tube emulation and solid state pre-amp (which you can use separately or blend); efficient compression; ten EQ sliders, with off/on switch, two 'contour' knobs, apparently for use when you want to quickly adjust EQ (or reduce hiss or rumble), a master volume, and both active and passive inputs. Runs quietly with a fan. I love this amp. I pick it up in one hand (handle built into side) and the cab in the other, and go. It is not just loud, the sound is quality--but keep in mind, my Schroeder is a great cab. I found the Hartke people responsive to my questions, and after a year of use, the amp has had no problems. All parts are solid and well-made, and the chassis is strongly built. A great value for the bass player who doesn't need to blow the windows out but wants clarity and solid power.

awesome head!

I play in a metal band and this head really gives me the sound I want. The 10-band eq is very flexible in sound possibilities, and it also has separate low and high controls. Another small feature that I love about the head is that there is a handle on its side, which makes it very easy to transport.

I went into Sam Ash today and started looking around at the combo amps to upgrade from the 10 watt practice amp i got over two years ago. After about 10 minutes a sales associate walked over and asked what I was looking for. I told him the truth that I had no clue. The only thing I knew was that i wanted to spend less than [$] for an amp I could use for small shows and practice. He told me to spend [$] and showed me this amp head connected to the vx210. I played around with it for a while and was fairly impressed, but not amazed. Then he came over and said he could get me out the door for [$] and I jumped. I walked out with this head and the VX210 for [$]. I got the thing home played with the settings and I became much more impressed than I was in the store. It can be anything I want it to be with the turn of a few nobs and some adjustments to the EQ. I don't regret the purchase at all and I would do it again. When the funds come a round I will add the 4x10 and the 1x15 to finish off the rig.
