This book is difficult. When I first picked it up I was pretty intimidated but his methods of teaching are spot on and the book isn't super hard to follow. As long as you have the patience and desire to learn you'll be much better in a matter of days. If you don't have much double bass experience this book is good as well because it literally forces you to put that double bass into a context rather than just practicing speed drills. This book gives you a massive guideline for creativity and each new beat or example is filled with endless results as far as variance and tempo. This book is spot on and thomas lang succeeds in giving the drummer exactly what he says he's intent on doing. better coordination and "feet chops" so to speak. Just keep in mind this book is frustrating and it demands a lot of patience...but after all...if you practice what you know it's gonna show and it takes extreme effort and practice to become extraordinary. If you're looking to jump from great to awesome this is the book that you've been wanting.
