The Epiphone Riviera Custom P93 is modeled after one of Epiphone’s most enduring classics, the Riviera. First introduced in the early ‘60s, the Epiphone Riviera’s semi-hollow design has been a favorite of players from all genres and generations including blues great Otis Rush, Lou Reed of the Velvet Underground, and The Strokes’ Nick Valensi, who have all found that the Riviera’s legendary ES-body shape could produce great tones with any pickup variation. Over the years, the Riviera has been seen with humbuckers, mini-humbuckers, and P-90s. But now the Custom P93 has the rare distinction of giving players a new sound and a new distinctive look.

The Epiphone Riviera Custom P93 uses 3 Epiphone “Dogear” Alnico-V P-90 pickups for a punch that leaves all other three-single coil pickup guitars in the dust. And when matched with the bell-like tones of the ES-style body, a Bigsby B70 tremelo plus a stunning Wine Red finish with gold hardware, the Riviera Custom P93 truly becomes of our era’s great instruments.

The Epiphone Riviera Custom P93 is constructed of premium laminated maple with a mahogany center block and a hand-fitted, glued-in mahogany 24.75” scale neck with a SlimTaper “D” profile and 22 medium jumbo frets with a 1.68” nut for great string spacing and intonation. Other details include a rosewood fingerboard with pearloid parallelogram inlays, quality electronic parts including full-size 1” 500K Ohm potentiometers, Epiphone's all-metal pickup selector switch, a ‘60s era Epiphone logo on the headstock, and a heavy-duty output jack.

The Epiphone Riviera Custom P93’s fabulous semi-hollowbody sound is voiced by three Epiphone “Dogear” classic P-90 pickups with Alnico V magnets. Controls include 3 individual Volume pots (for each pickup) and 1 Master Tone. The all-metal toggle works as it would with a 2-pickup guitar with the rhythm position activating the neck pickup and the lead toggle position activating the bridge pickup. The middle pickup can be used in any position by adjusting its volume control.

The Epiphone Riviera Custom P93 features gold hardware which even extends to the premium 14:1 ratio Wilkinson machine heads which provide superior tuning stability and accuracy. Also included as standard equipment on the Epiphone Riviera Custom P93 is Epiphone’s exclusive LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge plus a legendary Bigsby B70 vibrato. Case not included.

Dream Guitar

This is the guitar of my dreams. I have wanted an Epiphone like this since I saw George Harrison play one when I was a kid. Plays beautifully; sounds great. Didn't have to do a thing except tune it. Recommend.

A dream guitar

Plays like a dream. Tried a lot of lower priced hollow body's buy couldn't get a good feel. Tried the Riviera at a local store and fell in love, but a bit out of my price range. Thanks to the Sam Ash Credit Card and 36 months interest free I was able to order this fine work of art. It was delivered quick and set up perfect.

Piece of Art That Rocks

Purchased to be used around the house, in my personal studio, and performing in church. Well made and very classic looking. Took a little time to figure out the volume, tone controls assignment. Allows you to mix the middle pickup with either the neck or bridge pickup. Turn volume to 0 on the middle pickup and it behaves like a normal 2 pickup guitar. P-90 pickups sound very good. Hang it on the wall and it doubles as a piece of art. Love it.

A Classic Guitar as My First Electric

As a 65 yr old fan of the '70s, this guitar is my "bucket list" dream come true. I have been learning on a great acoustic guitar, but I'm loving the easier fretting of this electric... and the looks and capabilities of this wonderful instrument is off the charts! Excellent Guitar for the money

I have the RIviera Custom P93 2011 model in Black. The guitar has a great feel and awesome sound quality. The tones I get from the triple P90's are fantastic. This guitar is good whether you are a beginner or a seasoned gigging musician. You won't be disappointed.

Great guitar

I've owned Gibson guitars all my life and they were all great. So when I sold my last Gibson (a Chet Atkins Country Gentleman) I was looking for another, but I decided I didn't want to pay the price. I decided to give the Epiphone (which is made by Gibson) Riviera P93 a try. I couldn't be happier. Great action and tone with super styling. I love my new guitar and I love the price!
