Solid guitar!

I was looking for an all solid wood acoustic under a thousand. I already own a Masterbilt AJ-500RNS, and love the bright tone of the Rosewood back and sides. This time I had my eyes on a Guild, and one with mahogany back and sides, for that woodier tone. I am very pleased with my purchase. The one bonus over a Masterbilt is that the Westerly's come with a case. While it's not a true 'hard case', it is much sturdier than I expected. The foam is hardened, so it's almost as sturdy as a case made of wood. It is NOT a soft-shell case or a gig bag. Good for car travel and will keep your guitar safe on beach/camping trips. The guitar itself looks and plays beautifully. Very well constructed. Top notch guitar for an awesome price! The action is low and easy to play, tuners turn smoothly, and the sound...I love it! I am definitely going to purchase the D-150 (Rosewood back and side version) because this guitar feels much more easier to play than my Masterbilt. The neck is slightly wider on the Guild, which I noticed right away. Some may like the narrower neck, but for me the slightly wider neck makes for easier fingering. Definitely Recommend.

This guitar feels and sounds well worth the money

I practice with this guitar at home. Brand new it seems to be setup pretty well. And it plays and sounds very we'll compared to my other mid priced guitars.

Excellent gigging guitar

I'm a big fan of Guild guitars in general. I've had a Guild D35T since I was born and have been lucky enough to play it my entire life. I feel comfortable with Guilds. I picked up a F-130SB for gigging but the orchestra body didn't produce the sound I wanted, so I returned it. I purchased the D-140SB instead, and couldn't be happier. The sound is exactly what I was looking for in this price range: deep, full, excellent emphasis. For a guitar under 1,000 I'm a big fan. Perfect to take for gigs around town when you don't want to use your exclusive equipment.

This is the guitar that Tom Chapin played on "Make a Wish." Tom Chapin had a brother named Harry, and he played "Taxi," and "Cat's in the Cradle."
