Good Mid-range Guitar

This guitar sounds comparable to a Martin in the sense that the low register is more present in the sound than say a Taylor. The action is nice and the tone is good for the price. The Fishman electronics seem to work well, though it would be nice to have a bit more EQ control than just the treble. That said, as long as you're plugging into something that has EQ onboard, it can serve the same purpose. All in all it is a quality mid-range guitar with an aesthetic that makes it visually stand out from a standard acoustic guitar. If your price range is under $1,000, this is good option for you.

I have had many acoustic over the years, my last was Taylor but wasn't thrilled with it so I sold it 4 months after I bought it. I went into ASH and was all ready to buy an epiphone masterbilt when my sales guy Steven Sagel (yes, his real name)said, can I show you another guitar? The minute I put the GUILD D120ce in my hand and played one chord, I said Ill take this! Solid body, not to bright and super warm full bodied sound like I like, better than the Martin for my taste.

A Great Guitar but a worthless case

I have a beautiful 70's vintage guitar but I hadn't played for many years. Getting back to it I found the guitar very hard to fret & was told that it'd cost over $400 to break and re-seat the neck, which "probably" would correct the problem. After investigating was is available under $1000, I opted to buy this guitar and am glad I did. It frets as easily as pushing against warm butter and has a mellow sound which is both pleasing and strong (loud). Sam Ash's service, price, and delivery were exceptional. I wish is that its pick up came with a USB connection. The only dislike I have is the case. I consider it useless. The fit is tight making it difficult to insert/remove the guitar. The lining is thin, somewhat hard, and sparsely napped - the unit got here with no marks, but I don't trust it to protect the guitar's finish with continued use. The exterior pocket is a joke - think sewing two pieces of cloth, one w/zipper, together then stretching them drum tight over a solid surface. Now try to put anything into that pocket. Lots 'o luck! A wonderful gig back, Gator for instance, can be had for $50. Guild should replace this piece of trash with something like that, but I guess they want to "give" you a case which is really designed to act more like a packing crate within the shipping box. Bottom line is that I love the guitar and will throw away the case.
