I love this bass.
I'm using the bass for in-house recording stuff. The bass worked great. The in-house recording is an accommodation for the pandemic circumstances.

I purchased this bass, my second, for use in my 10 piece 60s-70s band. I wanted to be close to the sound of that era and I am quite happy with the result. The short scale neck plays easily and the semi-hollow body sends out a wide variety of great sounds enabled by the superb controls on board. The large mahogany body sits well on my own, and is a pleasure to look at (the bass). This bass plays up to the fine professional reviews I have read. I was pleased with the price and the purchase experience. My salesperson, Alex, at the Margate Fl. store was professional and knowledgeable. When I was not comfortable about the first two models, he offered to have another sent next day to the store. It was in tune and intoned with just right action when I picked it up. Everything is great about this bass and its purchase.

This is a very nice bass that I am growing to appreciate more and more. I had to send the first one back due to a faulty selector switch and Sam Ash quickly sent a replacement which has been fine for about a year now. I put D'Addario ECB81 flatwound strings on it and they work great for the classic sound I was looking for. I can get a good woody thump playing with my thumb and palm mute and then crank up the tone controls and using a pick, get solid low end definition with a little growl if needed. Several sound engineers have been impressed by the tones I get. It is pretty comfortable to play despite the neck dive typical of a semi-hollow bass. My right arm didn't agree with upper edge of the body, so I raised it up a bit and that has helped. The three piece neck (nice touch) is slim and the set-up was fine right out of the box. The 30 3/4" scale is slightly longer than a normal short scale neck. The fit and finish is extremely good. It looks great! The hardshell case is nice but with one thing I find very annoying. When you set it down on its side it tips over because it rests on two feet and two hinges, which are lower than the feet. Oh, yeah, IT ONLY GOES UP TO 9! So if you need to go to 10 (much less 11), it's not there. Nigel Tufnel would not approve! All 5 volume and tone controls only go to 9.

I had been waiting for this bass for decades and it has arrived. I have a 1967 one pickup starfire (that I love) and now have a brand new 2 pickup Starfire. Thanks to Guild and Sam Ash. The sound, fit and finish are all comparable. Wow, like it came out a time capsule after 40 years, untouched and arrived on my door step. BTW - It is not a bad looker as well. I plan on showing her off at my next gig.
