Gibson's classic SG Guitar has undergone a smart, cool little update that's sure to please newcomers and classic hard-rock fans alike. Though not necessarily too new on a surface level, some subtle little design choices have given it the some cool little throwbacks to a classic sound while keeping up-to-date with modern technology. The updated pair of humbuckers (61R and 61T) are inspired by the classic sound of the PAF pickups; The modern locking tuners are a smart choice as well to modernize a classic. Outside of these choices, the traditional greats are still their for the SG: color choices, neck and bridge design. Classic and hard rock fans should seriously look into updating their SG to something of this caliber. This is a Sam Ash employee review.
