J-45 Body Style with Sitka Spruce Top and Walnut Back and Sides
The J-45 body style is a timeless Gibson round shoulder. However, the Avant Garde, as its name suggests, takes a slightly different approach, with a slimmer body for increased comfort. The Sitka spruce top provides for the warm, high quality resonance you long for in an acoustic, with stability and strength provided by the walnut back and sides. The body is supported by traditional bracing. This model also has a traditional belly up bridge and mini-Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons.
Two-Piece Maple Neck with Advanced Response Neck Profile
The maple neck of this guitar has 20 frets and measures 24.75” in scale length, by 1.75" width at the tusq nut. The neck is capped by a richlite fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The advanced response neck profile allows you to move comfortably, easily pressing, sliding, and bending along the strings, while giving sustain and style to this modern Gibson masterpiece.
LR Baggs Element Pickup
The LR Baggs Element pickup on this guitar sits quietly along the inside of the sound hole, so it's basically invisible. This small, but powerful pickup allows you to amplify your playing in whatever setting you decide to play, from coffee shops to large stages. The pickup has volume control for fine tuning your sound when you plug in.
