The Yamaha FS800 is a grand auditorium size acoustic guitar. Smaller than a dreadnought, most players find the FS800 to be very comfortable, and it produces a smooth, sweet sound with strong mid-range. The FS model body is 10mm slimmer than that of the FG body, offering increased comfort and playability with no loss of volume or bass.

An excellent choice for players of all-levels and experience, the Yamaha FG800 features a handsome, solid Spruce top, paired with Nato back and sides. This classic tonewood combination delivers well balanced authentic tone. The neck is carved from Nato and topped with a rosewood fingerboard. Other premium features include a rosewood bridge, die-cast tuners, and a high-gloss natural finish. Case not included.

Great entry acoustic

Yamaha has always been known for having quality entry level acoustics and the FS800 is no exception. Solid Spruce top allows for a nice full sound and Nato back and sides give you a nice balanced tone. The smaller body shape makes this acoustic fit people of all sizes while not losing any power.

Great affordability and quality

Yamaha has been making quality acoustic and electric guitars for a long time, and the FS800 continues that tradition of affordability and the quality you'd expect from Yamaha. With a solid spruce top and nato back and sides ,it makes a great combination of tonewoods that gives this guitar a sweet tone with plenty of midrange punch. Smaller than a standard dreadnaught , the auditorium style body is more comfortable for kids and students just learning to play , but this guitar isn't just for beginners, and will be appreciated even by longtime players. You will also appreciate the pricetag on this one too.

Great guitar for someone getting started

This is a great entry level workhorse. The feel on these are very consistent and the sound is surprisingly good for the price point. If you're looking for a comfortable guitar to get started on, that will prepare you for the next level, this is an excellent choice.

Great for the price!

Solid spruce top at this price and Yamaha's legendary build quality, what more could you ask for? The shape I find handles both flatpicking and fingerpicking with aplomb, and even under hard strumming it is very difficult to throw this guitar out of sorts. Excellent value and sound!

Great Guitar!

This guitar is easy to play with a low action. It also has a nice loud sound and great tone. I would recommend.

Bang for the Buck Tremendous

Yamaha is a household name and for good reason. They make a variety of high quality products at a great price point. Their instruments are no exception. This new acoustic features a Solid Spruce Top that will eventually improve tonally with age. The slightly smaller size makes this guitar perfect for many players of all ages as it's so comfortable to play. The tone is warm, rich and pleasing especially at this price point, likely a result of the spruce top, nato back/sides, and rosewood fingerboard. The quality of the fit and finish is great so you can count on a great playing instrument out of the box, though I always encourage guitarists to have regular setup work done to keep your instrument great for a lifetime as well as to dial it in to their personal likings. So whether you're a beginner looking for a fantastic starter instrument that can last a lifetime or a seasoned player looking for a smaller/less expensive instrument for playing around the house or to take on the go definitely check this one out from Yamaha.

Perfect guitar for students and veterans alike!

Yamaha is a great guitar manufacturer that puts out quality instruments consistently. The FS800 is no different, sporting a solid top and sleek classic design, this is the perfect guitar for beginners and veteran players. The tone is balanced and warm and the neck feels and plays great! This is a great guitar for the price and with the right care it will last a very long time.

For the price, you get a really great acoustic whether you are just starting out or have been playing for years and want a good spare that you can take anywhere that's dependable. A solid top with rosewood fretboard gives great tone. They are well made and are neither too small or too bulky (just a tad slimmer than the FG series acoustics)

Big Sound Litte Guitar

The Yamaha FS800 is a powerful guitar for it's size. While having a small body it doesn't have a small sound thanks to extra depth throughout. The top is solid spruce with nato back & sides. Nato sounds very similar to mahogany. The neck is thin, narrow &, very comfortable in the hand. A great guitar for all levels of players.

Solid Guitar

The Yamaha fs800 is a great guitar for beginners. It's lightweight smooth and easy to play. Doesn't matter if you are 6 or 60, this is a guitar that will feel good in our hands and demand to be played. The great action and smooth neck are ideal for anyone at any age or skill set, but because of the action and smooth neck, it is ideal for beginners.
