This amp has it all at an affordable price. I purchased the SCX2 a couple weeks back and after messing around with it I have found that this amp really covers a ton of ground. It takes a little bit of learning, but not so much that it is the least bit frustrating. Not for me, anyway, and I am far from a tech guru...Just the opposite, in fact...BUT I do know a great sounding amp when I hear one. I have played for 30+ years and I mostly play a Telecaster, but the versatility of this amp leads me to believe almost any decent guitar would sound very fine being played through it. I am still finding new tones everyday. The modeling channel is versatile as all get out, and offers a wide variety, along with the effects control. It is a lot of fun...I mic all my amps to a PA so the 15 watt size is perfect for me. It will hold its own in a small gig setting but mics up just fine for the bigger venues and has lush, warm tones, punching bottom and ringing highs. It is also 2 channels (another big selling point for me) and the $20 Fender foot switch is very nice to have, so my recommendation would be to plan on acquiring the foot switch also when you get this amp. Overall, it is everything you should expect when you purchase a Fender tube amp, and then some. It has a lot going for it. For the price I consider this amp a home run for Fender.
