A new take on the Fender Flathead
Slipknot burst onto the scene in the late 90's breathing fresh air into the metal genre. They took the nu-metal scene to the top and became the leader amongst their peers putting out angst fueled seminal records in the heavy metal community. Jim Root played Jacksons for years before playing Fender Flathead series guitars for a couple of years. Fender and him teamed up to deliver a seriously amazing telecaster with high end features. The neck on this guitar is absolutely incredible and the Mahagony body and Ebony fretboard on the white model is a very rare wood combination for telecaster resulting in almost a thick Les Paul sounding tone. Coupled with the EMG 81 in the bridge and 60 in the neck you are talking a huge powerful sound that could be used in either a metal or jazz setting alike. These guitars are limited and seem to be in very high demand not just here at Sam Ash, but everywhere!
