As the funk-inspired backbone of the legendary Red hot Chili Peppers, Flea has turned heads for decades with his unique style of bass playing. His dynamic bass lines propel the Chili Peppers music in a way rarely matched by bass players in other bands. Fender has teamed up with Flea to re-create his custom-color vintage '61 Jazz Bass. Sent to Flea by one of his fans, Flea's beloved '61 Jazz Bass in Shell Pink can be heard on RHCP's Stadium Arcadium album, as well as on their LP The Getaway. The Flea Jazz Bass was crafted to Flea's specifications, with Red Hot Chili Peppers caliber playability and Fender vintage electronics. Fans of Flea and the Chili Peppers will go wild over this bass.

Crafted to Flea's Specifications
Just like Flea's actual bass, the alder body of the Flea Jazz Bass comes dressed in an authentic-style nitrocellulose lacquer finish in Shell Pink (one of Fender's rarest custom color finishes) that's been faded and road worn to reflect the actual finish shade and play wear of Flea's own bass. The Flea Jazz Bass comes complete with a 3-ply tortoiseshell pickguard and nickel/chrome hardware—including a special engraved neck plate featuring Flea's own artwork, a vintage-style 4-saddle bridge, Fender vintage-style tuners and knurled chrome/black concentric knobs.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Caliber Playability
This bass may look vintage and a little beat up, but like Flea, this thing can play. The period-correct "C" shaped maple neck also wears a road worn nitrocellulose lacquer finish to provide a genuine old-school, well-played vintage feel and look. Holding true to the original, the rosewood 'board features a vintage-spec 7.25" radius, 20 vintage-style frets, and aged white dot inlays. With the classic comfort contours of the Jazz Bass body, you can slap this bass like it's the last show of the tour.

The Flea Jazz Bass dishes out those warm vintage tones from the Jazz Basses of yesteryear, thanks to a set of American-made Pure Vintage '64 Jazz Bass single-coil pickups. Amazing sound

I went to Samash store at Miami Lakes looking for a new Fender jazz bass. I tried so many models untim I tried the Flea signature model. The look is amazing but the features like the 64' pickups, the two individual volume/tone knobs create an unlimited tone colors. It have the classic vintage sound of an original 60's bass at a more affordable price. The test of fire was when I went to a practice with me band members and the just where speechless with the look and great tone of my bass. I definitely recommend this instrument to any serious musician that loves the classic sound of one of the greatest bass of time!

New Sam Ash Fan for life

I visited Sam Ash in LA after having a terrible experience Guitar Center. It was my first visit to a Sam Ash store. Their staff was extremely helpful, very knowledgable and great selection of gear. I was there to try the new Fender Flea Bass. They had one in stock and set me up for a test run. The bass was already spoken for, but I was able to buy one on samash.com. Their support was equally helpful and my bass arrived sooner than expected, and $150 off the price. I'm now a customer for life and shared my experience with other musician friends of mine.
