The Fender Classic Series '70s Stratocaster returns you to the exciting 1970s heyday when the instrument conquered the world and was positively all over the place - especially the charts.

Many of today’s guitar heroes grew up and were taking their first formative steps back then, and a '70s-era Strat was the only kind they knew and loved. This guitar gives you that sound, style and spirit, with authentic features including a "bullet" truss rod system, three-bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt neck adjustment, post-1965 "large" headstock and more.

This instrument features vintage-style single-coil pickups that expertly evoke the sound and style of classic Fender guitars from the 1950s, '60s and '70s. This 1970s-style Stratocaster features a "U" neck profile (the shape of the neck in cross section) sculpted to impart a more substantial fretting-hand feel typical of the instrument in that era. Often found on thicker necks and ideal for those who play with the thumb on the back or side of the neck. For 1970s-era authenticity, this guitar features the "large" Stratocaster headstock adopted in 1965 and the "bullet" truss rod system introduced in 1971, when the body-end truss rod adjustment mechanism was changed to a bullet-shaped nut at the base of the headstock.

Features:
  • Ash body
  • Maple neck with "U"-shaped profile, "bullet" truss rod, three-bolt neck plate and Micro-Tilt
  • Vintage-style single-coil Stratocaster pickups with five-way switching
  • Three-ply white pickguard
  • Vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge
  • Deluxe gig bag included

I have used this guitar for jazz, blues ,rock, country , swing classic rock, pop . Have played American and Japanese, and Mexican, and the main difference in the guitars is price, and for the last ten years contemporary Christian, Gospel Praise, and worship, it fits the bill for all but I would love to add a thinking Tele to my arsenal.

I had the same guitar back in 1978-79 (American Stratocaster). Loved it back then and love it now. I think the look of it is just GREAT. I Covered lots of Deep Purple songs with the first one and I'm 100% sure that I'm going to do the same with this one. So Excited.

It's all about the feel

Mexican, CBS style guitars get a bad rap. I have one of these and I love it. (Although...I own a few USA Guitars...and we really do make to best guitars in the world...there is a difference) Back to this guitar....Mine has a great vintage tone and feel which I wouldn't describe it as limited to just a "70's" type sound. I play anything from Stevie Ray Vaughn to Buddy Holly type sounds on this. My guitar tech even commented on how impressed he was with the wood grain match (I have the natural finish), the feel and the tone. I play through a Marshall 100w tube amp....yeah that helps make anything sound good, but it does do "vintage" very well. My guitar has a highly underrated "U" polyurethane maple fretboard neck. This feels great to me! I switch off from Gibsons to Fenders and this fatter neck just feels right to me. They may be criticized as being slower (so I'm told) but a bigger neck causes less fatigue then a thinner neck. I'm all about playing longer not faster.

Brings you back

This guitar is hard to find in Stores, don't know why. It has that vibe, that sound that can bring you back to one of the greatest eras in music history. When I saw it at a nearby [...] , I had to play it. After I played it, I had to buy it. Great vintage sound from Fender's Vintage Pickup's. I have other Strats with aftermarket PU's that promise that vintage sound, and they do but I think that sound can be overdone.Too much twang, sheen, sparkle, ETC. I think the PU's on this classic 70's guitar nail it because it is IT. Ofcourse there is the requisite HUM. that can be alleviatd by not sitting on top of your amp. while playing and using better cables.

"IM JUST A BEGGINER BUT THE EASE OF PLAYING THIS GUITAR OVER MY OLD GUITAR , IT PLAYS ITSELF GREAT RANGE OF SOUNDS AND THE GUITAR LOOKS GREAT. NOT A FLAW IN THE FINISH . IVE ONLY OWNED THIS GUITAR FOR A WEEK AND MY PLAYING SKILLS HAVE GOTTEN A LOT BETTER. "

The headstock alone is worth the money!

"The Fender 70s Strat is not for the faint-hearted! Mine is a solid piece of Ash with the natural finish and a rosewood fretboard. Everything about this guitar is heavy: If you have small hands, better look elsewhere because the U-shaped neck feels like a baseball bat. The body itself seems super-heavy, but this does help the sustain -which it has gobs of. Although the quality is excellent, with frets and neck finished very well, I do not like the super-high gloss clear finish. It's just a little thick for my taste. I immediately changed the pickups when I got the guitar --the ones installed sounded thin and tame. Compared to other strats I own, this is the coolest looking one, because I love playing these inexpensive strats after I modify them exactly to my liking. You like natural wood? Get this one, it has lots of it!"
