Precision
The acclaimed Jazz Bass, with its dual pickups, slim neck and curvaceous offset waist, has been redesigned to create an even sleeker feel. An advanced neck design meets the body with a tapered heel for unparalleled access to the upper registers of the fingerboard, while the rear body contour is engineered for optimal comfort. Fender "F" light-weight vintage-paddle keys have fluted shafts that force string windings downward for consistent break angle over the nut, resulting in increased sustain and better tuning stability. The top-loading HiMass bridge delivers rock-solid sustain, intonation and tuning stability.

Performance
Slim with wide shoulders, the "Modern D" neck profile works for any style of playing. Rolled fingerboard edges and a silky, smooth finish make the neck effortless to play. Built for speed and easy bending, the 10"-14" compound-radius fingerboard is rounded near the nut for chording ease, becoming increasingly flatter as it nears the upper register.

Tone
There's no mistaking the distinctive growl and singing high end of single-coil Jazz Bass pickups. The Ultra Noiseless Vintage single-coil pickups retain legendary Fender tone, while also reducing hum. Redesigned for the Ultra Noiseless bass pickups, the 18V active preamp features tighter lows, more musical highs and even more useable bass.

Best Bass for 2K

Why would this be the best bass you could buy for 2K? Because you're buying the flagship bass from probably the the longest running, most produced most played most recorded and heard bass on the planet. Fender has been making and perfecting the bass for over sixty years and this bass shows it. You can spend a lot more for a bass but I don't think your going to get much better than a Fender Ultra Jazz Bass. This bass begs to be played. It PLays great sounds great and feels great in your hands hard to put down.

The Keeper

Of the 8 basses I currently own (2 Fender Elite (Jazz and Precision), a Normandy Chrome Archtop, a Gibson RD Artist, 3 Steinbergers from the '80s, and the Ultra Jazz V), this has become my go-to bass. I play bass in a large mega church, and the 5 string bass is perfect for that genre of music, although it's extremely versatile for other genres. The low B string plays as well as the low E on my other basses, and those deep tones shake like thunder. Quite literally, if I was ever forced to eliminate all of my basses except one; this is the one I'd keep. Also, the Arctic Pearl really looks great under the stage lights.
