In 1951, Fender changed the world of music forever with the advent of the solid body electric bass guitar, and by the '60s, the Precision Bass was the go-to instrument for a wide range of bass players. Today, with the American Original '60s Precision Bass, Fender faithfully re-creates the '60s-era P-Bass with period-correct appointments while adding contemporary updates that'll satisfy today's discerning bassist. An old-style P Bass Pure Vintage pickup ensures that this bass sounds as authentic as it looks and feels. If you're a bass player who loves vintage vibes and tone, you have to get your hands this American Original '60s Precision Bass!

Period-Correct Appointments
Remaining true to the '60s-era P-Basses, the Fender American Original '60s Precision Bass boasts an authentically-carved alder body in a lacquer finish, an accurate, thick '63-shaped maple neck, a round-laminated rosewood fingerboard with Vintage Tall frets, and a vintage-style truss rod assembly. All of the hardware is inspired by the original '60s Precision Basses, too, including a set of Pure Vintage Reverse open-gear tuners and a vintage-style bridge.

Contemporary Updates
Instead of the vintage 7.25" fingerboard radius that was offered on old-school Fender instruments, this American Original '60s Precision Bass is updated with a modern 9.5" fingerboard radius. The slightly flatter fingerboard radius offers an exceptionally comfortable playing experience that contemporary bassists will surely appreciate.

Old-Style P Bass Pure Vintage Pickup
The American Original '60s Precision Bass comes loaded up with a Pure Vintage '63 Split Single-Coil Precision Bass pickup, which provides that classic P-Bass punch that helped make this instrument the legend that it is today. For truly authentic tone, the pickup has been specifically voiced to produce that distinctive '60s P-Bass sound.
