The Fender Jazzmaster was initially designed to cater to jazz guitarists with its classy appointments and premium controls, but this now-iconic guitar ended up becoming the choice instrument for a much wider range of players. For the Fender American Original '60s Jazzmaster, modern playability is coupled with an array of authentic old-style features that made the original Jazzmasters such a hit with rockers. A set of vintage-inspired pickups really allow this Jazzmaster to produce all the tones that helped make the original instrument the legend that it is today. If you're a modern rocker that craves vintage vibes, look no further than the American Original '60s Jazzmaster.

Modern Playability
Back in the day, Fender employed a 7.25" fingerboard radius on their vintage instruments. Today, Fender adds contemporary playability to this traditional-style guitar by incorporating a slightly flatter, modern 9.5" fingerboard radius, which many of today's players find to be more comfortable.

Authentic Old-Style Features
From headstock to bridge, the American Original '60s Jazzmaster screams vintage vibe. It sports a genuine nitro lacquer finish, a vintage-accurate body made from alder, a mid '60s "C" maple neck, a round-laminated fingerboard with vintage tall frets, a bone nut, and even a vintage-style truss rod assembly. With aged plastic parts, a 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard, and period-correct nickel/chrome hardware including a vintage-style floating tremolo and Pure Vintage tuners, the American Original '60s Jazzmaster really exudes classic elegance.

Vintage-Inspired Pickups
The American Original '60s Jazzmaster comes fitted with dual Pure Vintage '65 single-coil Jazzmaster pickups that were specifically voiced to faithfully re-produce the genuine vintage tone that made the original Jazzmasters so famous. Allowing you to fine-tune your sound with ease, the controls include a 3-position pickup toggle switch and independent volume and tone controls for the rhythm and lead circuits.
