The Fender Acoustasonic features a never-before-seen blend of natural acoustic tones and raw electric power, wrapped in an imaginative design. We're all a little taken aback by this first-of-its-kind guitar from Fender. But as soon you hear the sounds emanating from it, all of your questions will be answered. Featuring a radical Acoustasonic Telecaster design, classic Fender American appointments, and revolutionary electronics, this guitar is for players who love mixing natural acoustic beauty with potent electric clout.

Radical Acoustasonic Telecaster Design
The brilliant minds at Fender spent a lot of time bringing this instrument to life. Envisioning a hybrid guitar which combines the best acoustic sounds with modern technology, as well as classic Fender playability, the Acoustasonic was born. Making use of a modified Telecaster shape, the mahogany body actually has a thinly-hollow inside, as you can see from its soundhole. The top of this guitar is Sitka spruce, like you find on many acoustics. The innovative body design features Fender's Stringed Instrument Resonance System (SIRS), which maximizes acoustic tone.

Classic Fender American Appointments
While this guitar looks unfamiliar in certain ways, there's still plenty for Fender fans to hang their hat on. The body has a nice forearm contour often found on Strats. The mahogany Telecaster neck has a 25.5" scale length, and is cut into a familiar modern Deep "C" shape. The fretboard is a rich ebony, with 22 narrow-tall frets and classic dot inlays. There's a Graph Tech TUSQ nut denoting the start of the Tele headstock, which showcases chrome Fender Standard cast/sealed staggered tuners.

Revolutionary Electronics
The crowning achievement of the Fender Acoustasonic is the unbelievable electronics system, which creates incredibly versatile hybrid sound. The Acoustasonic has a Fender N4 Noiseless magnetic pickup between the soundhole and bridge, a Fishman piezo bridge pickup, and a Fishman Acoustasonic Enhancer internal body sensor pickup. It's also got a volume knob and mod knob. The five-way selector switch uses different combos of the three pickups and mixes them through a Fishman-designed Acoustic Engine to provide voicings that are incredible replicas of specific acoustic tones. At each of the 5 positions, the mod knob can be moved from position A to B, or set somewhere in between for a blend of the two. Voicings like Sitka Spruce/Rosewood Dreadnought, Alpine Spruce/Mahogany Auditorium, and Engelmann Spruce/Maple Small-Body, as well as blends of two of the voicings together, afford limitless acoustic options. This Fender guitar is truly amazing.

Great Guitar especially when amplified

Great Guitar especially when amplified. Has great playability. Although the tone is a little quiet acoustically it sounds great an amplified. This guitar really comes alive when you plug it in and see the variety of sound options you have. My only concern is I received this guitar with very sharp frets. Obviously this is something that is correctable. This is the perfect Guitar to me in an amplified setting in which you were going to play some solos.

plays like an electric but sounds like an acoustic

This guitar plays like an electric but sounds (surprisingly) like an acoustic. Not just one type of acoustic but several. I play up the neck quite a bit with a capo. Even up past the 12th fret I'm still able to achieve clarity in the notes

Beautiful Looking and Beautiful Sounding

5

I'll admit it, the first thing that attracted me to the Acoustasonic Telecaster was its appearance - the beautiful wood, the colors, the tone, the curves, the finish. It's just darn pretty! But of course, pretty doesn't matter if it doesn't perform - especially at this price. I've been extremely pleased with its performance and playability. The Acoustasonic delivers a wide range of both acoustic guitar and electric guitar experiences. A five-position switch combined with a mode knob provide almost infinite gradations between a dreadnaught acoustic and a pure electric. Played through a Fishman acoustic amp, the sound is deep, rich, and well-balanced. The shape and width of the neck makes for easy, smooth play up and down the fretboard. I've seen some complaints in reviews about getting "just" a gig bag with this guitar. This is NOT your grandpa's gig bag - it's a very well crafted and padded bag with a lot of usable space. Love this guitar!
