The Batmobile of guitars

This thing is like the Batmobile of guitars! So sleek and powerful I love it!

Banger for sure

Better fretwork than most LTD guitars I've picked up. The neck feels very slick and comfortable and the neck to body joint looks great. All screws were tight, no popping or fuzz when rolling knobs or switching the blade switch, all the hardware feels solid and tight without surface marring. The factory 6th string height was 2 mm, and the 1st string 1.75 mm. Relief was around perfect .010". Intonation was on the mark already, surprisingly. Though not a total chunker, it was slightly heavier than expected, but it shouldn't be a surprise since it's mahogany. The sound is somewhat unique, compressed (EMG) though very sustainable and punchy, differing from my LTD super-strat M shaped body, and really shines. Though the binding looks great and flush everywhere else, there is one barely noticeable dent/impression/shallow spot at the top of the body. The slot height on the nut is spot on, but there are shavings on the headstock side that need to be sanded down/off and there is a bit of binding on the 2nd string slot. The factory nut will definitely require slot widening/sanding if you go bigger than the factory strings which are 9-42. Some type of damper will be also necessary to mute the behind the nut string noise. Overall, I'm super pleased with this guitar and it will most likely take the place of a couple others in my stable. I hope the quality is consistent on this model -- if so, I'd recommend this guitar in a heartbeat. I certainly won't be putting this one down anytime soon.

Looks sick and sounds amazing!

It arrived from Sam Ash and didn't require any sort of set up initially. I plugged it in and played it and I really like it. I also have an EC-1000 which is different enough and I've found different scenarios that work for both of these guitars. I really love the look of the TE-401 and the simplicity of the design. It's the same great neck you come to expect out of ESP/LTD guitars. The pick-ups are really crunchy, the action is appropriately low (lower than the EC) and I've really fallen in love with this guitar. Great value for it's price tag.
