So I sold my previous 8-string guitar a while back. I missed it. I wanted a good value guitar, and kept circling back to the JR-208 by ESP Ltd. I'm glad I did. This guitar is truly worth the price. I have owned several very high-end ERGs, but have returned to earth with a much more reasonable collection in my recent years. This guitar fit the bill perfectly with playability and price. I have a little bit bigger fingers than most people, but I found the thickness an contour of the neck/neck-profile to be quite comfortable and very accessible for an 8-string guitar. I liked the shape of the body and the access to the higher register/frets. The stock pick-ups were surprisingly good and sounded good through my Pod HD Pro X into powered monitors. I found the articulation and clarity beyond what I expected for the $599 price tag. My only knock, isn't really a knock because it's just a feature I wish it had (and probably would at a higher price point), but I wished it came with coil tap pick-ups just for that little extra punch when playing clean. So yeah, not a real knock because it's a feature that would cost the mfg more money. Yes, I highly recommend this guitar. I would stake my personal reputation on the amazing value. Remember, this guitar is only $599, and I felt like it played as well as my previous 8-string guitar which I paid over $1K for.
