This guitar feels really smooth. The neck through, and ebony fretboard are like playing on glass. The neck is thin, but not too thin. The Kahler is the finishing touch. Never goes out of tune no matter how much I dunk, or pull back. much easier to do alternate tunings on than a FR. There are no big springs carved out in the back of the guitar that you have to tighten if you want to have the guitart tuned down 1/2 step, and nagating the neck through by chopping a big hole in it. The Kahler also can be locked in place. I've used Iv'e used both FR and Kahler since 86, and although the FR are good the Kahler is more like a Corvette to a FR Camaro. If you never used a Kahler and you hesitant that's normal, but in 20 + years I've never had a problem. This guitar is well made, finish is sleek, and fretwork is well done. If your wondering why only 4 stars it's because nothing is perfect. ;)
This guitar screams the second you plug it into any amp. the EMGs get a nice heavy tone, great for metal. The Kahler is amazing! I thought it would go out of tune the second I did a big bend, but it stayed in perfect tune. The neck is very fast and has a good thickness.
this is a quality guitar although if you really want the signature guitar you should get that OFR swapped out for a kahler.
I bought this guitar at my local Sam Ash about a year ago and I love it. I have never owned such a great guitar. If you play metal it's all you'll ever really need. Floyd Rose (ESP model has a Kahler, which is worse if you use the trem a lot), EMG 81 and 85 pickups, and a great neck all add up to a great metal guitar. Also... the inlays are totally rad.

I went to the store today to look at the ESP's. I had heard good things about them so I decided, hey why not? I was right to do so. I spotted this guitar on the rack and asked for one of the employees's to take it down for me. I plugged it into a nearby Marshall; WOW. It friggin screamed METAL. The playability is absolutely phenomenal; the neck is smooth and fast. The EMG's have some of the best output there is. And the Kahler trem is great. I've tried Floyd Rose, the Ibanez ZR, the fender standards, almost everything. They all pale in comparison. The Kahler is smooth, more responsive, not to mention it gets BIG TONE. The design is far superior than Floyd rose. And the neck through design provideds sustains and comfort. Not to mention it has a maple neck AND body. All and all, this is a shredders axe to the MAX!!! Would definitely recommend it to any Slayer fan.

awesome guitar. this is much better than the full on ESP model, because khaler trems are not good, floyd rose is the only trem to have and its neck thru and emg 81 and 85 what else is there........
