The ESP F-5E takes the woodgrained appearance of boutique 5-string basses and applies the unmistakable personality of their F series. The ebony top is left unpainted for a high-end look, with a thru-body maple/mahogany neck offering superior intonation and sustain. An ESP SB-5 pickup set is made for high-power low end and you can then use the active 3-band EQ to shape your sound as you need to. It also features die-cast tuners, an adjustable BB-605 bridge, black nickel hardware, and an ebony fingerboard with 24 frets. Case not included.

One of the Best

This has to be one of the best basses made in existence. First of all, the look of it is unique. I can't play it without admiring the wood grain. Second, being neck-thru, it has nice sustain and tone. The ebony fingerboard is such a great feature. It's really hard, so it makes notes pop out slightly different than rosewood. The pick-ups aren't EMG quality, but still can dish out some serious low frequencies. The only cons would be its weight being a little heavy and the fact that the neck is not as thin as an Ibanez (but only by a few millimeters). In my opinion, this is ESP's greatest bass.

One Of The Best

I bought this bass and I'm so glad I did. This has to be one of the best basses and for a very good price. The only problem with it is reaching the 24th frets and sometimes the 22nd (on certain strings). That's seriously the only con other than its weight but the sound it makes is so good that the weight doesn't really matter.
