ESP's B-4E is a classy-looking bass with a hard-charging, versatile tone. Its mahogany body is topped with ebony, unpainted to let the grain show through. The neck-thru body construction greatly improves the bass's tone and sustain. A pair of SB-4 pickups go through an ABQ-3 active 3-band EQ, allowing you to shape your voice as needed. Additional features include an adjustable bridge with string-thru body, ebony fingerboard with 24 XJ frets, black nickel hardware, and die-cast tuners. Case not included.

I had a P-bass knock off for 20 years and it was fine, but wanted to step up to active electronics, faster neck, better tone, etc. After MUCH research, my heart was set on a Mexican Fender J-Bass, but the Sam Ash employee asked me to try this LTD. I was impressed by the looks, wood selection, neck-through body and solid, beefy hardware. I found nothing near this price range even came close to the awesome sound and feel. Great modern to funk/slapping to finger-picking Motown sounds. The active EQ is golden and simple. This does it all very well and it's so much fun to play. Don't buy anything without test-driving these!

Please ignore the gentleman who compared this to the feel of a P-Bass, he is wrong. I never gave ESP a fair shot, but I wish I would have sooner. This thing plays beautifully. Extremely low action, a wide variety of tones available, very thin and fast neck and it looks absolutely gorgeous. I'm a gigging musician, have had studio time and can't wait to bring this in the booth with me next time!

I play eletric guitar mostly and record my own music, and I needed a bass to complete the sound. I shopped around and test played a few different models before coming across this bass. I must say, the feel is sweet, similar to a Fender Precision Bass that I tried out. The price was about the same as the Fender Precision, but I chose this bass over the Fender because this one looks cooler. They sound about the same and they feel the same, so in the end you gotta go with overall appearance.

This is really good bass. It's got good pickups, it sounds nice when you slap, it plays and feels WAY better than my last bass, and, don't forget how FREAKIN' awesome it looks, way better than the picture. The only thing I don't like, is that the battery for the pickups isn't held in place, so it tends to rattle around when you get all into the music, but I fixed it by putting a coin right behind the battery, now it hardly moves. But besides that, I really recommend this bass!
