Representing an unbelievable value, the Epiphone Masterbilt DR-400MCE features an all-solid wood construction plus high-quality onboard electronics at an affordable price! With all the quality you've come to expect from Epiphone's Masterbilt instruments, the Masterbilt DR-400MCE features a dreadnought body that's crafted using a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back & sides to produce a warm, balanced sound with plenty of sonic horsepower. It also sports a convenient cutaway design to allow for comfortable access to the higher frets on the fingerboard. The solid mahogany neck is shaped into a sleek, ergonomic 1960's SlimTaper profile, and boasts an asymmetrical "Masterbilt" headstock that showcases a pearloid script Epiphone logo and a Masterbilt "Stickpin" inlay. Equipped with an eSonic HD preamp system and NanoFlex-HD under-saddle pickup, the DR-400MCE will deliver natural-sounding amplified tone, which makes it the perfect workhorse for the stage and studio. The electronics also feature discreet soundhole-mounted controls including Master Vol and Master EQ wih detent. Other features include a set of nickel Epiphone Vintage Premium open-back tuners with an 18:1 ratio, an FSC Certified torrefied composite "blackwood" fingerboard & bridge, a bone nut & saddle, multi-ply bindings, and an imitation tortoise pickguard.

Great All Around Guitar

5

This guitar grew on me. At first it was like, meh, but after changing the strings and adjusting the action I fell in love with this guitar. I own several expensive guitars including a Martin D-28 and a Taylor 314CE, and while this Epiphone is not in their class, I find myself picking it up again and again. It has a great neck that makes it easy to play and it has a lovely sound. At its price point, it's the guitar to beat.

Absolutely beautiful guitar!!!

This is an amazing guitar. Epiphone didn't miss anything on the masterbuilt series in my opinion. I own the EJ-200 and it is also amazing.

This is just a really well made guitar under$400. Solid top, solid back and sides, solid neck. The E-sonic interiorized control pick up is good too. Try one today, you'll probably buy it. -this is a staff review by skern at Sam Ash 57.

The Go-To Acoustic-Electric

5

I've always been a fan of Epiphone's acoustic output and this new Acoustic-Electric addition to their lineup doesn't disappoint. The bright, clear sound on this thing cuts through sharply in just about any mix without ruining the natural tone or sound quality of the guitar's sound, thanks to the eSonic preamp system. The look and feel of the guitar is incredibly nice as well with a mahogany finish on the back, sides and neck. And at a remarkably affordable price, there's no reason that this shouldn't be a go-to guitar for anyone's electric-acoustic needs. This is a Sam Ash employee review
