Classic. Timeless. Legendary. The Epiphone Les Paul Standard has everything you expect from a Les Paul electric guitar.

Epiphone's history with legendary guitarist and innovator Les Paul dates back to the early 1940's when Les, working late at night at the Epiphone factory on 14th Street in New York City, created what might have been the world's first solidbody electric guitar, better known as "The Log." Over the years, Les continued to work closely with Epiphone luthiers reviewing new product ideas and offering suggestions. “Epiphone always made a good guitar,” Les often said.

The Epiphone Les Paul Standard has all of the features that have made the Les Paul one of the icons of rock.  It has the same set neck construction as any of the classic Gibson Les Pauls, so that the neck and body act as a single piece of wood. This, along with the dense mahogany body with a maple top gives the Epiphone Les Paul Standard the rich tone and long sustain players have come to expect from a fine Les Paul guitar. You also get the classic look of white binding around the body and neck.

Like other classic Les Pauls, the Epiphone Les Paul Standard has a pair of great sounding humbucking pickups with powerful Alnico V pickups and the classic trapezoid configuration of two volume and two tone control knobs. This lets you make fast tone and volume adjustments while holding a note. Its chrome hardware includes the famous Tune-o-matic bridge/Stopbar tailpiece combo for monstrous sustain and quality Grover tuning machines. Case not included.

Great guitar. The first one I received had a broken headstock. The second one had the wrong address. Once I got the guitar it was wonderful. The Customer Service rep was very helpful and helped get this straightened out.

Great place to buy music.

So far I love this guitar.I have the Epiphone Les Paul Standard. I got a gteat deal on a beautiful guitar. I shopped around and nobody beat Sam Ash in price. My online sales person Jordan was more then helpful and went through a lot to see I got a guitar I could grow with at a great price. All I want to do is play this baby. I love it.

Not a lively sound, sagging quality

Bought one of these online and although it looked like my other custom 1990 epi les paul black beauty, the pickups were deadish and the neck was fretting out. had it set up but it still frets out, played it for a few years and now trying to sell it.

Epiphone is a great guitar company

Look. Epiphone does not get enough credit for their guitars. Gibson owns Epiphone. This guitar, the Epiphone Les Paul Standard is an amazing guitar. I also own an Epiphone Les Paul Special II and obviously the Standard kicks butt. When I finally got the guitar in the mail, the action was set way too high for my taste, but that's not the guitar's fault. So I put on fresh strings after adjusting the action and voila, the guitar has been set up properly. Try the guitar out for yourself at a retailer shop. I hook my Standard up to a Line 6 Spider IV 30 and man does she sound amazing. The Epiphone Les Paul Standard can get the job done. Trust me.

Amazing Tone

Just a quick E tune and straight out the BOX I was Jamming !! The guitar like most les pauls is a little heavy, but not as heavy as my epi Custom les Paul. The finish is excellent. A perfect Gold Top !! LIKE A DREAM COME TRUE FOR ME ! Paint, Binding, neck, tuners all are great. It's truly rare for me to get a guitar that didn't need any adjustments while new. My only con....the strings are heavy and Raspy.I prefer a lighter gauge. Otherwise...."I'M IN LOVE" !

I got this guitar for my birthday a few months ago and it is a great guitar! It has great tone. I play the Who and The Beatles and I wanted a cheap but good guitar so I got this. GET IT!!!!!!
