The Epiphone Les Paul Custom PRO continues the Les Paul legend and tradition of quality and performance that is stronger than ever after 6 decades. The Les Paul Custom Pro is a faithful reproduction of the original classic high-end Les Paul model. From its inception in 1954, the Les Paul Custom combined stunning elegance with maximum playability and tone. Sporting a solid mahogany body and gold hardware, the Les Paul Custom has caught many an eye while attracting the ears of guitarists everywhere.  The body is also capped with a carved maple top, capturing the iconic look of the Les Paul Custom we’ve loved for decades.

To preserve the tradition of unsurpassed tone, the Les Paul Custom PRO is outfitted with a pair of ProBucker humbucking pickups. These Alnico II equipped pickups deliver the sounds of decades past, yet capable of the most up to the minute molten metal tones. The electronics are completed by the traditional layout of two separate volume and tone controls for each pickup. The tone controls feature a push/pull coil-tapping system to further expand the tonal versatility of this Les Paul, along with three-way switch.

A mahogany neck is carved to a comfortably slim tapered 60s style profile. The neck is capped with 22 medium jumbo frets, a rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlays, and a radius of 12" for easy playability and smooth effortless string-bending. The headstock is adorned with the traditional split-diamond design.

All the glory of yesteryear is preserved, while retaining a look and feel that’s contemporary as ever. The Epiphone Les Paul Custom PRO is rounded out by a set of premium Grover kidney-button tuners along with a chromed Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop tailpiece combo. Case not included.

I believe I have a new number one ... For now at least!

What can I say. This is truly a stunning looking guitar and that's only the beginning. Epiphone has found a way to build amazing guitars for an affordable price and this guitar is one of the very best in the price range. Straight out of the box, after a little tuning up and breaking in the strings, it played and felt better than just about any other guitar in my collection. Intonation was pretty much dialed in and bluesy, emotional solos just seem to ooze out of it for me. Guitar feels like it should be a lot more expensive than it is, which is a great achievement for Epiphone. If you are looking for a Les Paul guitar and don't want to break the bank with the $4K+ Gibson counterpart, take a look at this one. You won't regret it.

If the apocalypse came tomorrow it will go with me!

Got your attention now? Get it plain and simple. I will buy this over a Gibson. I love it that much! I also have a gold top standard which is my kick around and this is my baby! Either one is the right choice and you won't regret it!

Great guitar for the price

This is a great guitar for the money. The hardware and electronics seem to be of a better quality than what you would usually get with Epiphone. I love the tone of this guitar and how it feels in hand. I played about three of these between a couple of music shops and crazy enough it beat out most of the competition. The crazy thing is how consistent the manufacturing of these guitars are. Each one I played was awesome. Maybe a difference but I couldn't tell. Except for the alpine white one. I didn't like it. For me, it didn't play as well as the ebony.

Not quite a Gibson but real close!

This is close to a Les Paul as it gets. Mahogany body, Maple cap, dual humbuckers, split diamond headstock inlay, coil taps, block inlays, phase select, Grover tuners......Nuff said. -This is a staff review by skern at Sam Ash Music 57

just amazing!

blues/metal just sick plays like it costs twice as much. this axe is well worth the money, you will be amazed, go play one and you will see. get it!

You can spend more, but you won't get more!

I was a little skeptical knowing that it was crafted in China, but was I in for a surprise! This guitar is stunning in both looks and tonal variations. I've had many Gibsons for the last 60 years and I can say with all honesty that this guitar is as good as any I've ever had.

I have had two Gibson Les Pauls. I still have my Studio model which is a spectacular guitar. I was given an Epiphone Standard Pro as my 30 year gift from the company I worked with. I was so impressed I decided to sell a few guitars I no longer play and buy the Custom Pro by Epiphone and just as my Standard Pro, I was blown away! I have always wanted a Les Paul Custom in Black. BUT....they cost $5000 and even though I could do it, I just never could allow myself to spend that much money. So, for 10 times less, I thought I would get the Epiphone version and all I can say is Wow!!!! I love the feel , the sound, the look....everything about it! If I didnt know , I would have thought it costs MUCH more. Excellent guitar that is far underated.

I love my Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro!!

I have had for many years an Ibanez Paul GIlbert signature model. I love it. But always wanted to have a Les Paul. I Live in Colombia, and one day I asked my little sister that was at New York to get it at Samash for me. Since the day I played it for the very first time I was totally astonished. If you want a great sound and a great looking guitar without busting the bank, go get this beast!

Bold Choice for the Smart Guitarist!

I originally was looking at a G&L Fallout but had previously played the Custom Pro at a local Sam Ash -- Incredibly happy I took the leap and got this one. The Alpine White is GORGEOUS. It's very loud, paired with a Vox amp it's a beast. There was a surprise I didn't know about, you can pull up one of the tone knobs for a phase shift on your pickups -- Which is excellent in a recording set up. There are a large number of diverse tones you can get from just this one guitar, and it's SOLIDLY built. I could drop this thing down a flight of stairs and it'd be just fine. I've barely even had to bother to tune it!! FIVE STARS :]

Great Guitar

It was a hard choice between the tuxedo and the silverburst(special ed) that I purchased but the silver won out. Appearance is important but much more is the construction of this model. I have a Gibson studio which is setup to the same specs as the Epi and wow the Epi wins out! All you have to remember is that Les started designing guitars at Epiphone in NY and then move onto Gibson--so this custom is a true rendition of his talent. It is quite a versatile instrument which I have used across many genre's and is a tribute to the man who designed it. Thanks Epiphone and thank you Les!
