The Goth 1958 Explorer lends a touch of the diabolical to an old classic. The sinister Pitch Black body is made from mahogany, as is the set-in mahogany neck. The rosewood fingerboard bears a solitary inlay of the Roman numeral "XII" at the 12th fret. The dual open coil humbuckers churn out some of the darkest tones you'll find in this class. Additional features include vintage-shaped tuners, adjustable bridge with stoptail, and all-black hardware. Case not included.

Picked it up a day ago. I couldn't be happier. It is a truly amazing instrument. [...] the only problem I've had with it, was the fret buzz. its not too noticeable, but its there. bottom line is i love this guitar and i will never part with it. i recommend this to anyone who loves to play, anyone who loves Gibsons, anyone who wants a great guitar.

This guitar is not made for everyone. The sound is great, the fell of the axe in very good. Yes, it could be heavy after a long jam, but I own 4 guitars, and the moment that you pick it up again (in case you change a lot because of the styles you play)you get another boost of energy. Great gig guitar, great for awesome closings. In a gig, more than likely everyone will remember you. But it is not a newbee guitar.

Love it...BUT

I've had this guitar for about 8 months. It is great for practing heavy metal music, but not much else. Because it is unbalanced, it is really hard to play standing, plus, the strap tends to fall off. The sound of this guitar isn't too bad. It has low sustain though, and is also a bit heavy. I wouldn't recomend this to a friend because it is nearly impossible to play standing up

This guitar is a beast, the pick-ups, everone say there arnt that bad but they change it to a amg, well they are great, is just as good or even better then a gibson explorer. It awsome

This Guitar Is Amazing!

My experience with this guitar is playing it at a local guitar shop. Plug this beast into a Marshall or a Line 6, and it'll rock. In addition to it's super-awesome looks, it sounds like something straight out of a Metallica concert. There's no need to replace the pickups unless you have a certain preference for sound. Altogether, one of the best guitars around. Still, replace the strings ASAP, the originals just aren't up to par.

Plays Good!

Plays well but when you but a strap on it the neck falls to the floor...needs to be better balanced so it wont do this...not sure if its the location of the strap nut or if its just that the neck is too heavy.

Pure rama jammin Metal

"yea this here axe is pretty heavy when you ram it into a crate .iam not big on crates but when i tested it out ,damn it blew me away itz great when you wanna play some [...] leads and rhythm.and it sounds clear even with a heavy distortion which gives it a sinister tone . if your a metal head and you wanna crank it and rock it pick one up! now!"

Nice Axe

"Well, I must say, the guitar looks really cool. The black satin finish looks almost grey sometimes, and it doesn't get fingerprints on it to easily. It does chip easy though, but its looks good hangining on the wall. The neck is also finished in black satin and it looks like its connected directly to the body, like one big solid piece. [...]."
