A classic SG now with Alnico Classic PRO pickups and coil-tapping!

The G-400 PRO honors the original 1960s classic "SG" (Solid Guitar) and features Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers with push/pull coil-splitting plus Wilkinson Vintage Classic Machine Heads.

Classic 60s Era "Solid Guitar"
The modern G-400 PRO is inspired by the first generation of SGs made in the 1960s at the legendary Gibson and Epiphone factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan that produced the Les Paul and the Casino. The SG model was originally intended to replace the Les Paul, which temporarily went out of production from 1961-1968. The G-400 PRO is constructed using the same dimensions and build techniques as vintage SGs and features a mahogany body and neck with a comfortable 1960's SlimTaper "D" profile and a 24.75" scale length. The pau ferro fingerboard has pearloid Trapezoid inlays, 22 medium jumbo frets, a 12" radius, and an adjustable truss rod with a "bell" cover.

Alnico Classic PRO Humbuckers with Coil Splitting
The G-400 PRO features Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers made with Alnico-V magnets, which produce a slightly higher output especially in the mids and highs. Each pickup has it own Volume and Tone control with full-size 500K potentiometers matched with Epiphone's rugged, all-metal, 3-way toggle pickup selector switch for long-lasting performance. Each pickup also is wired for coil-tapping. By pulling up the pickup's volume knob, the humbucker will become a "single-coil" pickup, allowing players an infinite variety of tones from single-coil bark to full humbucker bite. When winding humbuckers, Epiphone utilizes a double vacuum waxing process that ensures quiet operation free from microphonic hum. The pickup is first placed in the specialized wax vacuuming system before the cover is placed on the unit to ensure that the wax fully penetrates to the very center of the pickup and solidifies all parts. After the cover is placed on, it is again given a second vacuum wax bath until the unit is completely saturated with wax. Epiphone also uses high quality ABS plastic bobbins, 1010 Cold Rolled Steel pole shoes and pole screws, the finest magnet wire available.

Solid Epiphone Hardware
The G-400 PRO features Epiphone's legendary LockTone bridge and Stopbar tailpiece for incredible sustain along with Wilkinson Vintage Classic Machine Heads with a 18:1 tuning ratio.

Great guitar, great price. Very happy

Very pleased with this purchase. The finish is a very nice cherry red and the price was great. Very nice tone, with split pickups. Thanks!

Just got the G-400 Pro today. Packaging was super and well protected. This guitar is amazing for the low price. Finish is immaculate with not a blemish anywhere that I can find. Fret board is smooth and the trapezoid inlays are set perfect with no edges. Frets are perfectly tapered on the ends with no feel of sharp edges. Just required a quick tune out of the box and it was ready to go! Tones are close to that of my Gibson SG Standard. Not sure how much I'll use the coil taps, but they will broaden the tone selection. Sounds great on my Marshall DSL15H / Marshall MX212A cab. This guitar is an amazing deal for the money. Don't hesitate to get one if you are looking for an inexpensive SG that is quality built.

Awesome Guitar- Great Value for the $$

Having never owned a Epiphone guitar I was amazed of workmanship and sound of this guitar. Straight out the box the guitar was set up correctly and just needed a slight tuning adjustment to played immediately. Plug and play straight out of the box.
