The Epiphone EJ-200SCE pushes the "King of the Flat Tops," into the future with a spectacular cutaway for total upper fret access plus the Fishman Presys preamp system. Originally introduced in 1937, the J-200 style set a standard for guitar excellence that others have been trying to match ever since. Today—over 70 years later—the legacy of the "King of the Flat-tops" lives on in the Epiphone EJ-200SCE.

The EJ-200 style is simply the world’s most famous acoustic guitar, known equally for its majestic look and focused, complex sound. When the EJ-200 was first introduced, it immediately filled a need for a deeper, more balanced and powerful acoustic instrument that could project over stage and radio. The J-200 was a radical new design, bigger and bolder than any previous guitar, capable of projecting well beyond that of any other acoustic on the market—a fact that still holds true today with the EJ-200CE. Every great rhythm guitarist and singer of the last century made the J-200 their primary acoustic instrument on stage (and for record covers, too) including Don Everly, Bob Dylan, Robbie Robertson, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Presley, Gram Parsons, Buddy Holly, and Pete Townshend. The EJ-200CE gives you everything great from this iconic and historic guitar without the headaches or the price tag of an original plus a modern pickup system so you can be heard anywhere.

The Epiphone EJ-200SCE's classic shape is made with a Solid Spruce top with select maple, back and sides and a striking cutaway for total fret access. Epiphone's famous SlimTaper select maple neck joins the body at the 14th fret and has a 25.5" scale. The pau ferro fingerboard has vintage style pearloid crown inlays and a 1.68" nut along with the iconic Sloped Dovewing Epiphone headstock with premium die-cast gold 14:1 tuners. The tone from the EJ-200SCE's select maple top is enhanced by the classic rosewood "mustache" bridge and synthetic bone saddle. A tortoise style pickguard helps round-out the EJ-200SCE's iconic look which even from far away, tells everyone that you're playing the King of the Flat-tops. One of the EJ-200SCE's most outstanding qualities on stage and in the studio is its strong yet balanced tone which makes rhythm guitarists as well as singers feel like they're being backed up by a band even when they're playing solo. The rich and complex tones of the EJ-200 truly will inspire musicians everywhere over and over again.

The Epiphone EJ-200CE is equipped with the superb Fishman Presys Onboard Preamp System. Fishman is an industry leader in bringing a guitar’s true acoustic tone to bigger stages. Fishman's Presys Presys Onboard Preamp System is dedicated to providing maximum value in a small footprint. This preamp system features Volume, Tone shaping, and Phase controls; a pre-wired Fishman Sonicore pickup and low profile control knobs. Also included are a low battery indicator and a separate battery box.

Epiphone's hardware has always been the best in the business and the EJ-200SCE is no exception. The new jumbo king features gold Grover tuners and gold screws on the traditional “bell” style truss rod cover. Case not included.

I I was skeptical about buying a guitar online without first having played it but the return guarantee was enough for me to consider an online purchase. The guitar was delivered early and in better condition than I expected. Turns out it was a new model and not used! So far I have not been disappointed! Thanks!

The guitar was awesome right out of the box, been playing it acoustically and haven't plugged it in yet. The sound is beautiful and full and carry's nicely. The action is a little further from the neck than I would prefer but that's just a minor adjustment any guitarist should be able to handle. Happy with my purchase.

Needed this for my new guitar. Love it. There is an added benefit to this case. I bought a Guild 12 string two years ago and have had trouble finding a hard case that fits it. This Epi case fits it perfectly!!

Do yourself a favor... Go to Samash and purchase a Jumbo!!!

I never really do reviews, but this time I felt like I needed to. I did tons of research before I purchased this guitar, I went to Samash and tried out all available acoustics in the room, I'm sorry, but they didn't really compare with this guitar. I really thought I was going to like the Hummingbird or the Masterbilts, Or even the Gibson Songwriter, but, in the end, it was the Jumbo ---All the way! I even tried the higher end Taylor's and Gibson's and to my surprise... I still wanted the Jumbo. I thought the customer service was very helpful and superb! Do yourself a favor, and come to Samash, support this great company, and also look into the epiphone Jumbos... You won't regret it!

The Guitar is a winner!

I play acoustic gigs on the side for extra cash and have been wanting t5his instrument for a while now. I have played one show and was pleased. It sounds good through the PA , but I will need some compression to suppress some of the midrange. I like how well it is made and how the neck plays. My only criticism right now is the projection which can be helped by changing the saddle and nut. other than that, very happy with my new guitar!
