The AJ-220S has a unique bell-like shape, a larger lower bout, and a small round upperbout which gives this new addition to our Advanced Jumbo family of guitars a unique voice. And the AJ-220S is made with Epiphone’s century’s worth of experience in crafting world-class guitars that are meant to be played.

Acoustic guitar players know it’s difficult to find an instrument that has both a deep bass tone and crisp loud projection. On a small stage with an acoustic band and little amplification, a good acoustic guitar should be able be heard and anchor a band. The AJ220S’s strong and balanced tone will make other acoustic players who have spent much more on their guitars wish they had gone to Epiphone instead. Like all our Epiphone acoustics, the AJ220S is legendary for being easy to set up and for staying in tune so no matter how much playing time you have, it's ready to go.

It doesn't make sense

I have been playing, buying, selling and buying more guitars. This guitar, today, plays and sounds as good as any I own, including my 1958 J45, which I bought new, in 1958. I don't know how it's possible to build and sell a quality instrument for so little. So now, you can spend $3,000 for a guitar... but you don't need to. Woody Guthrie used to say, "If you're using more than 3 chords you're just showing off. I'm saying, if you are spending more than $150 for a guitar, same thing!

Pleasantly Surprised

The reviews are true. For the price point this guitar is hard to beat. Great feel and good tone with very nice playability. This is not some cheap guitar with high action and tight string tension. The only thing is the action is a bit too low. Otherwise, I highly recommend this acoustic!

Superb value!

Fit and finish are excellent. Set-up right out of the box was great. Tone and volume are amazing for this price-point: not the equal of my 1973 Guild D-40, but boy are they building great guitars in Indonesia! Believe all the positive reviews. This is a terrific guitar for the intermediate guitarist. Came well-packaged and shipped via FedEx.

great guitar and excellent value with quick shipping.

I am a hobbyist guitar player and have been at it for 40 years. I was looking for an inexpensive guitar that plays and tunes well. The Epiphone AJ220S I purchased from Sam Ash fit the bill perfectly. If I find myself in the market for any more music gear I will definately check with Sam Ash first.

Do NOT under estimate this Guitar

I use it most in my studio where I write music. I pick bluegrass and use it in my leads. The sustain and mellowness make it perfect flatpicking and ballads. Never under-estimate this little instrument. It has all the qualities of it's "more expensive" maker. For the price, this is probably the best guitar made.

Great Guitar. love the finish and the action.

I use indoors mostly. Sounds better outdoors though. Love the action and the challenge it brings.

You can't go wrong with an AJ220S!

Amazing Value in this guitar! A solid top Epiphone with deep bass! Better sound in my opinion than the equivalent Yamaha FG. Whats more, is you can get the VS finish for the same price... Yamaha charges more for the VS finish. With the exception of a loose Epiphone "e" logo on the pick guard, that seems to be common to the entire product line, the quality of this guitar is excellent. The finish is flawless. easy to play action, great feel to the matte finish neck and super loud! This guitar includes the front mounting point for a strap so you don't have to tie it on. There really isn't another guitar that can match the quality, features and performance of the AJ220S VS

Bassy, loud, and clear

The Epiphone AJ-220S is a really unique guitar in its price point. Three of its main features stick out to me. Its both bassy, loud, and clear. This is very hard to find in any acoustic guitar in general let alone one for that price. This would be a great guitar to bring to a campfire, beach or casual playing in general. I recently toured the Gibson factory in Nashville, Tennessee, and one thing they thoroughly convinced me on is the quality of their epiphone product. Each one is hand inspected by a Gibson team member in the USA.
