The Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi is the NYC original. Hendrix and Santana were among the first to get a piece of the Pi, and for over 40 years the Big Muff Pi has been defining the sound of rock guitar. Like the legendary Big Muff Pi of the 70’s, the reissue has three controls that let the player dial in the finest harmonic distortion/sustain ever produced. The Volume control adjusts the output level. The Sustain control optimizes the long sustain with just the right amount of harmonic distortion. The Tone control provides a range of sounds, from warm bass to crisp treble. Revered by contemporary guitarists and rock legends for its rich, creamy, violin-like sustain, from Pink Floyd to The White Stripes, everyone still wants a piece of the Pi!

Reliable, I would purchase this product again

Great all time fuzz from the beginning of rock age, gives me all my 60 & 70's sounds. Sounds great with all my pedals. Has new modified plug for center (-) pin connectors or 9 volt operation. Sound as good as the one I had back in 1973.

Very Fuzzy

Obviously thr big muffs are known for fuzz/distortion, and it does those great however the one issue is on lower tone or sustain the notes become very choppy and on the higher settings it reaches those frequencies that hurt your ears after a while, but overall would reccomemd, those issues are easily fixed by turning the volume down

This is the 70's in a box

This is the 70's in a box. It doesn't get any better than this tone-wise. There are some major downsides to it tho. As opposed to the little pi, this one is built with flimsy metal that can be dented if you stomp it too hard. It isn't compatable with any normal 9V power adaptor, just an odd one that has a 1/8 inch input and looks like a headphone jack (don't be fooled, it IS for power). It's also really big, and not too easy to fit on a pedal board. It also doesn't sound too much different from the little pi, but there is a discernable difference. If you are willing to overlook these downsides tho, it's one of the best sounding fuzz's that you will ever play on.
