Recording King’s Dirty30s Series 9 RPS-9-TS is a small body, near-parlor guitar with a perfect blend of comfort and sound. The solid spruce top powers true acoustic guitar tone; the RPS-9-TS’s Cross Lap bracing complements this model’s great projection. The single-0 body is a near-parlor size ideal for taking with you everywhere you go, and the dreadnought scale length (25.4”) puts out big volume despite the small body. For the vintage enthusiast, player that wants a legitimate sounding “take around” guitar, or even the new player, the RPS-9-TS is sure to surprise and delight.

Solid Spruce Top
A solid top allows the soundboard to transfer the strings’ energy and tone in a much fuller way than a laminate top guitar. The straight grained spruce chosen for the RPS-9-TS lets vibrations freely travel the length of the top resulting in both a full and sweet sound.

Recording King’s Cross Lap Bracing
Recording King’s bracing used on the Series 9, Cross Lap bracing, is X bracing that includes an extremely low tolerance fit at the vertex of the X. This supports the top where it needs it most, at the bridge, and allows a lighter bracing and top thickness in the remainder of the top towards the edges. The soundboard then can flex like a speaker cone and put out more volume and bass frequencies than other models of this size.

Single 0 Body and Long Scale Length
The single-0 body is often mistakenly called a “parlor” and it is similar to a parlor sized instrument. The comfort for the body and ease of travel are important elements of this body size – but equally important are the sonic effects: a sweet closeness that a small body provides are present here, but the longer dreadnought scale length increases the string tension and flexes the top more than most small bodies, helping to attribute to the overall volume and increased bass response.
