Beautiful Maple Top on Mahogany Body
The timeless single cutaway design of this Les Paul is built from mahogany and topped with maple. It's finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer for a gleaming shine. The neck is also cut from mahogany into a vintage '50s profile. The 24.75" scale length neck is topped with a 12" rosewood fretboard.

The Finest Gibson Craftsmanship
The Les Paul Standard '50s guitar is built with stylish rock aesthetics and fantastic playability in mind. All the specs go towards that end. The fretboard of this Les Paul sports 22 medium jumbo frets and acrylic trapezoid inlays. It's got a Graph Tech nut for smooth string movement. The bridge on this Les Paul is a classic ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic with a stopbar tailpiece. It even sports the vintage style amber top hat knobs with pointers.

Burstbucker Pickups
For killer vintage tone, Gibson outfitted this awesome LP with dual Burstbucker pickups. There's a Burstbucker 1 at the neck and a Burstbucker 2 at the bridge. These humbuckers give classic, clear sound, and extra trebly output, which articulately handles gain and effects. The circuitry includes 2 volume and 2 tone controls, as well as a three-way toggle switch, and is wired with orange drop capacitors. No matter your musical proclivity, there's nothing the Les Paul Standard '50s can't handle.

Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s...Buy One

I've been playing guitar for 25 years and this guitar is by FAR the best I've ever had! Initially, I liked the Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s better because its slimmer neck profile was similar to other guitars I've had. However, I went with the 50s because of the tone of the Burstbucker I and II pickups. They're warm and open sounding. They also have a great wooly tone on the dirty channel of my amp. I'm glad to report you CAN adjust to a thicker neck profile if you're used to a more modern, slimmer guitar neck profile. I love this guitar! I bought it from the store In Cincinnati, Ohio. The staff there was easy to work with. They sent me pictures of the guitar before buying and made buying over the phone easy. The guitar looked even better in person! Overall a fantastic guitar. I am satisfied with my purchase.

Even in crazy times Sam Ash and Gibson bring a little joy

First and foremost, Sam Ash did an outstanding job operating during this pandemic. Sam Ash fan since their days in Manhattan. Now for Gibson... after a major setup( manufactured end of 2019 so it's been on a wall for a while), it plays wonderfully. Burst bucker pups are very good, so they are staying. Lemon oil brought the fretboard back to life, top wrapped with new strings and through my Magnatone it is pleasing to say the least. 4 decades playing and this thing is on par with some of my older Lesters. Thanks again Sam Ash

Awesome Customer Service and Inspection Process

I recently purchased the Les Paul Standard 50s in tobacco burst. Jordan my sales rep and I looked through the four guitars listed on the Sam Ash website at the time and I selected a very nice burst top with nicely defined grain. Before I received the shipped guitar I had selected Jordan called and stated the technicians had inspected the guitar I selected and found a hairline crack in the neck and headstock and shipped it back to Gibson. They did ship me a guitar they thought I may like but when I received it the burst was not to my liking. I called Jordan and I returned the guitar no questions asked. Jordan and I agreed I will keep checking the site to see if another guitar comes up to my liking. Thank goodness Sam Ash throughly inspects their guitars before shipping because if I would have purchased from another on-line retailer or local retail shop I may not have noticed a hairline crack in the guitar. Thank you to Sam Ash for your awesome customer service and inspection process.
