Adventurous guitarists started hot-rodding their Telecasters in the late '60s and early '70s with big-sounding humbucking pickups that lent new style and swagger to rock music. The Classic Series '72 Telecaster Deluxe brings it all back as an authentic evocation of its early-'70s ancestor, including dual Fender Wide Range humbucking pickups, a large pickguard, Stratocaster headstock and bridge, cool skirted amp control knobs and more. A favorite of players from '70s rock to modern U.K. alt-rock and much more.

The Modern Wide Range humbucking pickups on this guitar expertly evoke the look of the famous Fender pickup design of the early 1970s, as used on original-era Telecaster Thinline, Telecaster Custom and Telecaster Deluxe models. For 1970s-era authenticity, this guitar features the “large” Stratocaster headstock adopted in 1965 and the “bullet” truss rod system introduced in 1971, when the body-end truss rod adjustment mechanism was changed to a bullet-shaped nut at the base of the headstock. This specialized ’72 Telecaster model features the nicely authentic touch of sealed tuners stamped with the stylized capital “F” from the classic Fender script logo. Includes deluxe gig bag.

  • Maple neck with "C" profile, "bullet" truss rod, three-bolt neck plate, Micro-Tilt™ and "large" Stratocaster headstock
  • 12"-radius maple fingerboard with 21 medium jumbo frets
  • Dual Fender Wide Range humbucking pickups
  • Three-way toggle pickup switch on upper shoulder
  • Four skirted amp control knobs (volume and tone for each pickup)
  • Vintage-style string-through-body Stratocaster hard-tail bridge
  • Includes deluxe gig bag

Looks good and plays good! Great axe

Great guitar for non-Gibson Humbucker choice.

I purchased this because I was tiered of my single-coil Fenders buzzing badly if I turned up the drive on my pedals. I have a Les Paul, but the neck pickup is muddy compared to Tele or Strat. The Deluxe pickups have more clarity, which is what I was looking for and has the dual tone and volume controls, which I prefer. Installing a treble bleed really widened the usefulness. Also fun to have a re-issue of the 70s era three bolt neck, just to be different. Plays great, low action, mine weighs 8 lbs, like a typical Telecaster.

the beast.

There is nothing crazy exciting going on with this guitar when you first look at it. But as soon as you plug this baby in, you'll be blown away. you can get almost every sound imaginable from this single guitar. Bottom line is, It's a work horse. I've beaten mine & knocked against countless solid objects but, the only real damage was done to whatever I hit it on! If you're lookin for a solid, beast of a guitar buy this. The only thing is it has a pretty thick neck, so, unless you have "gorilla" hands like i do, it may be a bit difficult to get around.

Fender FSR Telecaster Deluxe

It's an absolutely great guitar. It's everything they say and more. The neck is awsome and easy to play. Bending notes is a pleasure. The Arctic White Special Edition is what I have. The chrome pickup covers and Fender engravings add to the beauty. The off set pickup screws are another nice touch. The tones are great and the pickups ae excellent in all three positions. I would recommend this guitar to any serious player.
