Disappointed

I had high hopes for this guitar as I heard the high praises of an all steel body resonator guitar. Unfortunately it did not impress. I bought this guitar along with the Gretsch G9920 wood body resonator and played them both side by side. While metal body guitars are said to be louder and more metallic or crisp sounding, this was not the case. The wood body version was actually louder and crisper. This steel body guitar sounded dull and muted. Did not like it's tone or sound at all. Not to mention the poor quality control coming out of the value priced Grestsch guitars. I have bought 4 of these valued priced guitars (two Electromatics in the past and these two acoustic resonators recently) and all 4 had quality control issues. I ended up returning all 4 guitars. I did however buy a higher end Brian Setzer Signature Hollow Body, and that guitar is awesome! Anyway, this Steel acoustic guitar had loose pieces of wood leftover from the assembly of the resonator chamber rattling around inside. They were 3 large chunks of wood (about the size of dice) that would not fit through the F holes, so the only way to get them out was to remove the resonator cover and cone. No thanks. I have bought other value priced guitars from Guild and Epiphone and have never had the quality control issues that I have had with the Gretsch guitars. The quality control may be hit or miss from guitar to guitar, but the sound and tone of this particular model was not what I was hoping for. It was more in the midrange with no bass or treble and just sounded monotone, dull, and muted.
