The XTOMP mini is the lean, mean core of Hotone's flagship XTOMP Bluetooth Modeling Effects Pedal. With a smaller, more pedalboard-friendly footprint than its big brother, this solid aluminum stompbox can be transformed into over 140 different classic, vintage and modern effects for guitar, bass and more. The XTOMP mini uses a mobile app (iOS and Android) via Bluetooth or a desktop app (Windows and macOS) via USB with an ever-expanding effects library to load your favorite tones into the pedal.

To simulate the diverse tones in its growing effects library, the XTOMP mini utilizes Hotone's advanced Comprehensive Dynamic Circuit Modeling (CDCM) technology. CDCM, which processes various incoming signals dynamically, is unlike current modeling systems that use the same modeling circuit regardless of the signal. CDCM allows for larger and more complex modeling algorithms, which equal more realistic and natural tones. This results in truly authentic effects that you've never heard anything like before. Effects library categories available to the XTOMP mini include Amplifier, Cabinet, Distortion, Dynamic, Frequency, Modulationand Ambient.

The XTOMP mini's mobile app (iOS and Android) is available for free in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The free desktop app (Windows and macOS) can be downloaded directly from xtomp.com. Both apps are designed to easily manage your tones, including loading effects and firmware updates into the pedal via Bluetooth (mobile) or USB (desktop).

Bringing thousands of dollars worth of highly desired gear within easy reach, the XTOMP mini is an absolute must-have for guitarists, bassists, keyboard players, singers, DJs and producers alike.

I would buy this product again

The XTOMP pedal offers a lot of different effects for an economical price. This is my first effects pedal and I feel like I got a lot for my money. I like the library of effects that is downloaded to my phone and it is easy and fast to use the. I like the favorites for being able to recall effects that I like the most without having to search through all the pedals I downloaded.

Awesome all encompassing fx

Best little pedal I've bought in years

I liked it so much I bought 2

I bought two of these for my pedalboard for the versatility. I contacted Hotone just to find out what would happen if the company went out of business...since this pedal works with bluetooth. Here's what I found out; Once you update the library in your phone app, all the pedal profiles are all on your phone. The Xstomp unit itself can store 159 pedal profiles. As long as the company has the servers up, you can update the app on whatever new phone you buy.

Versetile little pedal.

I love this little guy. The sounds are very good...in fact I think the custom made sounds are the nicest ones of them all. I don't use many effects so this fits me fine. The only thing I wish for is if you could chain at least 2 together like it's big brother. If not, if Xtomp managed to sell these pedal for $40, I'd just get 2.

OK, this is kind of a first impression. I've had it for just over a week, and I haven't used it live yet, but I will tomorrow at church. Since I'm primarily a bass player, I tried the compressors first. I have a MarkBass tube compressor, which sounded wonderful, until it started eating tubes. Then I got an Earthquaker The Warden, but I blew it up by using the wrong power supply. I tried the "Squeezer" on the Xtomp, and it seems like a flexible, musical compressor so far. I also play some guitar, and I'll be leading a service at church soon, when our usual guitarist will be gone. I have reverbs and delays, so I probably won't be using those, although they seem excellent. I will be using the Aozora chorus and Square Trem, though. Possibly one of the phase shifters. The effects in general sound great to me. I've mostly shied away from digital effects, since they often sound very "processed" to me. These mostly don't sound like that, maybe that's the advantage of only being able to use one at a time. The other night at practice, I didn't feel like dragging my tube amp along, so I used the Voxy amp model through the line in on my bass amp. I've never had an AC30, so I can't tell you if it sounded exactly like one, but it sounded a lot better than just playing a guitar through a bass amp. The Xtomp has also stacked well with distortion, reverb, and delay pedals I've tried it with. There are some limitations. With the Mini, you can't use the Combo patches that you can with the full-size (Maxi?) pedal. The Mini also only has one input and one output, again unlike the Maxi. Nonetheless, I don't think you can beat this pedal for the price.

Great versatility - good sound on some effects (not all)

The Xtomp mini is a very good pedal to have if you want to experiment with some new sounds or if you need effects only sporadically. The concept is great, and gives you access to a lot of different sounds (various temolos for example) without having to buy the pedal. This is really fun to use. Some effects (chorus, phaser, reverb, wah) are very good. This is still not as good as the real thing (obviously), so some of the vintage sounds, such as amps, can only be used to give you an idea of what the real thing would sound like in your mix. Also I find that the pedal (even in by-pass) affects the overall tone of the guitar too much. the app is very well done, but I have not seen a lot of recent updates on it. Last, you have to have in mind that the pedal only holds one effect at a time and updating it takes some time, so this is not as quick to use as a multi-effect. Still, overall this is a great tool. I keep it on my board and use it for some very good chorus, phaser, wah and a decent compressor.

Not sure what pedal to buy next? Get a few dozen!

The XTOMP is great! The easy to use app loads on your phone or tablet, and lets you select amps, cabinets, and 60+ pedals. Pair the xtomp to the app and play. Now it's a tube screener, now a tremolo box, now chorus. Use alone or add it to your effects chain. Fun to try out different 'clone' tones before you settle, easy to experiment with your rig, and an easy, lightweight 'mini rig' when you don't want to lug the amp and speaker and peddle board and guitar up three flights.

Killer pedal - chameleon in a box

I have 2 minis and also the bigger version. I like a wide sonic pallet and experimenting. I use them to add variety to my core pedalboard without breaking the bank but also have replaced some of my core pedals. If you could save/recall individual pedals settings, create multi-unit scenes and change these via midi, I'd replace almost every pedal I have. HotOne, are you listening? The light up dials also look super cool on the board and no-one can tell exactly what you're using to get your tone.
